Luna 2 Questions

A friend of mine expects to buy himself a Luna2 card with the external converter and he had some questions before he’d buy it.
First of all is whether the external converter can be “racked”? He really likes his equipment to be as fixed as possible
The second question is the voltage of the external converter. Is it connects to Power supply and thus enabling proper preamplification to the analog sources (such as guitars) that he’d like to connect.
Another very important question is what exactly inputs/outputs does the external converter has?
And the final question is about the PCI card itself, by the picture in the creamware site we couldn’t see the Standard PC Midi input/output, so our question is what is this interface we’re dealing with here and how can we connect to it with our regular MIDI equipment?
That’s pretty much everything, except that, one thing that bothers me. Apparently this friend of mine prefers to purchase Edirol 24/96 Card, which is in my opinion, doesn’t really does the best for my friends’ purposes. I mean, yea, obviously this Odirol card have good converters but I’m sure that Luna offers much more and you can upgrade it easily in the future.

That’s all thanx in advance.
And if someone sells used Luna2 or Edirol please PM me

the pci card has 1 midi out and 1 midi in on it and it connects to it through a special cable who converts that "PS2 like" into regular midi in\out.
the convertors use a firewire cable calles "z-link" and they get power supply from it.
they have 8 in and 8 outs (RCL connectors) with no pre-map and no knobs on it. u control the channels from the SFP (the card OS). it can be controll by midi controllers if u want to do it outside.
it is very usefull if u have a console mixer with groups, if so u can combine many settings and actually do all the mixing "outside".
i have luna 2 and the convertors and i am strongly recommend on the card. the convertors are ok but i have heard better...
good luck with it.
