i have the luna 2 card although i use it with a pulsar card as well, my situation is a bit different but what i know is that alone the card performs quite well with the possibility for very low latency(if your cpu is up for it) you should generally avoid creamware products if you are using an athlon with via chipset as these have serious problems concerning audio (i have a via chipset and i had to install a patch for it to function satisfactory. the quality of the converters is very good for a card in this price range which is a plus
also the fully configurable interface makes your system very versatile. on the down side there is only 3 dspīs on board which limits the functuality of the card. donīt expect to run a lot of synths and stuff on this card cuz in my experience this side of the card doesnīt work very well but as a pure soundcard itīs really good and itīs certainly good quality for the money. you should think of what you need(not just now but in the future too)
and then search the net for soundcards that fit your wishes, check the different audio forums to see if anyone have reported problems with the object of your desire. hope this cleared you up a bit. good luck |

yeah you can use them both together this gives you a lot more power but if you need synths and efx to run on dspīs you should check out tc powercore instead of adding pulsar to your system this card is only dsp and comes with some killer efx. it works independantly of your audio hardware and together with all vst compatible sequencers this is the top pure dsp card out now check it out at tc-works.com and see for yourself.
the reputation of tc alone is enough to arouse interest in this product and soon more 3rd party plugs will be made (access and emagic are developing plugs for this card). donīt be fooled you still need a soundcard installed the powercore only handles processing not i/o. luna is definately a good interface (and relatively cheap compared to the competitors)

I think buying a luna 2 is worth noyl if you add the powersampler to it.
That's its great tool - and as monno said, you're paying for the dsps which aren't giving you much shit.
I myself own a delta card, so it's as pure as it can get. Though there are minuses also.
anyway - have a good decision.
