I began to turn to lqt format 2 years ago...this format is better then mp3 and you can check it just by listening to 2 formats consecutively. So, what is your opinion of this? Maybe you`re good at this and have new codecs....           Live for enjoyment & include everything.

The best way to know about it is to find a track in the internet with the extension *.lqt and listen to it...and you`ll understand what better..

www.liquidaudio.com here you can find any information about this format and also you can download LQTplugin for winamp...

just out of curiousity, does anyone believe that a high bitrate (>256) mp3 is inferior to wav or cds. I mean can anyone actually hear this supposed inferiority. I cant but I dont have great monitors!!

If you code MP3s with VBR (variable bitrate) method when bitrate min is 192kbps and max 320kbps there is no freaking way you can hear the difference between the original and coded file unless you are a dog or something.
And no I don't rip cds or anything like that!!           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

he-he-he.......I can`t believe that you`re not able to distinguish .mp3 and .wav....It`s so obvious what are you listening to: .mp3 or .wav......and if you try to compare the same track with different encodings (for ex.: lqt with 128kbs and mp3 with 128kbs) you`ll feel the difference for sure.....           Live for enjoyment & include everything.

What i've experienced with the VBR method is, that the sound quality remains exactly the same. IMHO only dogs could hear a difference between MP3 VBR (192kbps - 256kbps) and the original CD. I have never before heard about the lqt, if it's so great why is't not the dominant form?           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

I think, it`s because of no marketing....but if anybody has listened it once He`ll continue using lqt....
"Lqt-founders" don`t promote their format among Records Studios.....and it`s the reason that there are few track in Lqt => Lqt isn`t wide-spread...maybe they don`t try to promote because of customers...the great number of them spits on quality distinguishes...they are not soundmen.....           Live for enjoyment & include everything.

MP3 is a opensource project so i believe into it.
There's no point to argue here since we can't prove our claims. It's once again sort of matter of taste.
