In this case, the answer is to a low end that is quieter in general than most modern productions, in particular below 70Hz.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Yep. Youtube compression - like all mp3 encoding - only chops off the top end and makes the sound less distinct; it doesn't magically make the bass quieter. Example:

Had to login just to agree. That tune is fucking phat and stands up to anything I'm hearing these days.           Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut

i would say it sound better than lot of psy i hear these day including OOOD recent work , now either they did a fantastic job with plugs to replicate how some real gears sound in a mix (console,synths...)or it s the sound of signal that flow into real circuits and voltage, great sound !

it s also not as loud as today stuff so it contribute to get sound to breath and get a more intense musical experience imo.. with music like this can turn my monitor fucking loud and enjoy .
if you get used to that by lisetning not squashed music, hearing modern stuff will be depressing

+1. This whole loudness war takes its toll on the music, it has gotten out of control really.

The thing is that labels want really loud masters...what to do... just hope someone forces a standard on which the final mixes will not be as loud, but the sounds will breathe.

Friedemann Tischmeyer, a german mixing and mastering engineer, started an interesting initiative against this madness before some years:

I heard about TV adverts loudness-limits almost 2 years ago but seems like nothing has really happened atleast here & the damned overcompressed adverts will last until our last days.
Atleast this would be an advantage but as for the masses and purchasable music I believe not much will change, the avarage ears have changed due to long yeared heavy rms loudness habbits and consuments desire such standards and won't pay for more dynamics/less loudness. Loudness simply dominates our times. I'd like limits and new standards too but seems utopical to me.I prefer uncompressed music on the avarage private listening like accoustic sometimes psychedelic jazz ala mahavishnu orchestra and such likes where compressors don't play a dominating role in the mastering chain and there is another power inside not comparable with electronic music at all but seem for me as such music is really healthy whereas the overcompressesion of modern electronic music is a pain in the ears and hardly stays 'timeless'.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden
