I always wanted to ask this question.

Does an end-of-the-mastering-chain-Loudness-limiter treat low,mid and high frequencies differently? I know it would go for the peak, but does it though for all freqs the same?           https://soundcloud.com/jaadoo

Most limiters are single-band, and therefore limit the peak level summed across the whole spectrum. As far as software goes, Waves do a multi-band limiter (L3) which can provide limiting across 5 frequency bands, with variable interaction between them.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

When you refine spectrum by multiband compressor etc, deosn't the single band limiter un-refine or re-sum it again?
