I havn't used the plug in yet either. The reason I was interested in it was because it might work well with a calibrated monitoring system.
I usually mix to the K-system (-14dBRMS). I haven't written any Psy, yet. Thats why I am here.
I normally just mix rock bands.
I have heard old Goa on vinyl. So I know that psy can be great and don't have to be squashed to fuck. But this is happening all over the place.
Do mastering engineers tell the musicians how to play?...no......At the moment we have a situation where by people who haven't got a fucking glue are calling the shots and instructing mastering engineers to do things which they wouldn't otherwise do.
And it seems that nearly every one has just followed the herd like sheep.
Fortunately I am not a sheep.
