I have try many times to make a good loop but i didnt make it.
So... please tell me some thinks about loops, your opinions, your experiences, your ideas.

Loops are usualy ready made. That is why they are called loops and not just percussion layers.

I'm not sure I understand your question ...

Try not to use ready loops.Becuase ifyou do then most likely you will not be able to learn how to make your own ones.

Some of the most important things in making a loop fitting in your track(specialy in a percussion) are:

*Tuning the sounds that the loop is aparted from in order to make it communicate with the rest of the music and the loop of course.
*Dynamics(Velocity and level and envelopes)Which gives the actual groove.

Try to be creative with your loops and dont be afraid to experiment with different fx.Use your ears

Also try to imagine what kind of groove you want to give with your loop first and then try making it real.
Good luck!

Other wise you can find ready loops at magazine cds(which will probably are going to be used by many many people and thats not a good thing), libraries that come with soundcards(Emu i.e.),other people on internet that share their loops and cds you can buy from electronic music shops.          Reasons to be cheerful are 3..!

Well when they use sample loops, yes. Usually if an artist is very good at make percussion (loops), they create new stuff for each track I would imagine. Maybe they use their own old loops to speed up production. Maybe some get lazy. I don't know.

Personnaly, I just create new percussion for new tracks.

yeap best thing is to collect your favourite samples and start to make your own loops this way your groove and style, sound will be unique!
also this adds to your composition skills!

Making your own cool loops aint that hard.. just make some basic hihats and claps/drums and FX them to hell. You can get some wicked loops from that           www.myspace.com/psypox

you have the base:

k---k---k---k--- kick
--o---o---o---o- open hihat
----s-------s--- snare
cccccccccccccccc closed hihat

now you can create your groove. add another hihat, put holes in the closed hihat, change velocitys, another snare... your choice. just try for some time it's easy.

Using a groovebox (VST or hardware) makes making loops a no-brainer. And it's fast.

Boobytrip - any example on VST or hardware?
is it like Spectrasonics Stylus RMX?

if you use this plug couldnt you use other premade loops instead? i mean it must be almost the same?

i get the most original loops by putting every piece together my self... this way i can combine different kits and make totaly new fusions..

VST:
Sonic Charge's µTonic (micro tonic): http://www.soniccharge.com/products

Native Instruments' Reaktor grooveboxes Massive (my fav), Aerobic, Newscool, Sinebeats:
http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?id=r5library_us

and loads of other ones

Hardware grooveboxes:
Roland MC-909, MC-303 and loads of other ones

It's not the same as Stylus RMX. Grooveboxes have a simple pattern editor and a sampler (and/or synth), so you program your own patterns and select your own sounds instead of selecting and tweaking a prefab loop. I really like the Massive ensemble in Reaktor 5, because you can draw in the notes and their properties at the same time. It also has a shuffle control. Come to think of it, it takes some time to get the hang of Massive so i guess it's easier to start with Micro-tonic if you want to see if it's something for you.

A small note on Stylus RMX: It is possible to load your own loops. (In REX format). This way you can use the real-time performance features of Stylus.

Another thing you can do is copy the MIDI of Stylus to a MIDI track in your sequencer. Working in MIDI, you can change the programing of the loops. (Your own or those that come with Stylus).
