i noticed i like this effect alot... chemical bros use it quite often the delay is normal and then becomes looped at a certain point on itself.... how is this done?
ohmboyz delay has a loop function thingie.... but i find it hard to automate it.
anyone have any experience with this?
if examples are needed, ill upload some stuff.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

if you're talking about that ohmboyz button in the top that loops the delay you can remove the predelay and set the feedback to 100%, does the same thing. this way it's easier to automate.
if this is not enough... i need a sample

there is an emulation of the logic tape delay here that can be used in cubase!! oh yeah (its great, ive tried it)
http://www.interruptor.ch/vst_overview.shtml

now all i need is logics autofilter for cubase and i can give logic the finger forever hehe.

the plugins above (analogic delay i think it is) can do that chem bros sound your talking about with high(er) feedback settings...sample it and run it in reverse for interesting builds as well.

have a nice day

www.interruptor.ch

bionic delay -> I used that one, but I ditched it because it's acting very wierd. I think it causes denormals.

what I often do is automate the feedback of any delay at the end of a sequence... works for me most of the time.

my favourite delay is psp 608... damn that's a monster of a delay

Even if using a tape delay,i guess it needs to be sampled too for grabbing a specific selection.
U take a piece of the delay and automate the volume or use compressor to do the job.
Even if u take the first delay cycles the sample has already lost dynamics and is filtered.
If needed to sound like the the original sample,
i guess u just copy paste the sample many times and play with its chanel volume.
I hope i m not offtopic           HTTP://www.decadancerecords.it/audioplug

Well, the delay surrender is talking about is not really just a loop is more an effect that some delays do when the feedback goes over a certain point...you find this effect a lot in reaggae and dub music

For this situation I think my way is still the easiest way.... Export a big loop, wich contains the part of the delay(Iīm almost sure itīs Logicīs delay), and then cut this part from wav file and sequence as u wish.

And if u are using Logic, I really advice u to do it that way. Logicīs delay has a annoying crash...           LOADING...

I tried the Tape Delay solconnection was talking about and I dont think its great as he says, there is no way to sync the delay, or at least I didnt see it, if there was it would be ok.
