So I discovered this trick on my own but I'm sure many have come up with the same idea. I'm applying this to making edits of tracks for DJing but I'm sure it applies in other cases (remixing etc)
so you want to make a 2 bar loop of a section of a track, but the point you want to use is not quite smooth - the seam of the loop is very noticible.
What you can do is, on one channel you have the 2 bars you want to loop. create a second audio channel and in that channel you put the second bar of the loop, followed by the bar that comes before the loop (so we are using a 3-bar section to make a 2-bar loop)
Then, you crossfade between the two loops. You can use filters/EQ too if you want to get fancy about it.
Has anyone else used this trick before? |
