I am not an expert. I want to get one myself. A few people, one very highly regarding has suggested I look for a Studer.

Studers are great, u can also check out Akai-s, I have some used here on sale but they cost much, like 500 euros at least..
And u gotta know how to maintain them, changing electrolites and stuff, lots of work..

As for synths, everyone has nords and viruses.. Im gettin Noah..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

Well I underestimated V-synth, that XT rack version is a baby.. But this GT just looks like those performance keyboards made just for playing presets..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

The v-synth has some features that encourage NOT using presets. I got my XT for less than a virus.

It can do so much more than a virus.

Yeah and maybe GT is good for other styles but I like synthesis and XT is sure a good stuff.. No doubt it can do more than Virus..
Hope that this Noah Im gettin today will also have such capabilities..
What do you think D?
It will cost me way less than virus and its best emulation of moog, prophet and arp ody there is.. I mean what can you ask more?           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

in my latest track i used like 14 channels from the virus and maybe 5 from the v-synth, but the v-synth sounds are the unique stuff (my voice with formant and pitch games for instance)!! i will upload it to myspace tomorow and let you hear... this roland is a big fun...           myspace.com/megaka

I agree with assaf

The v-synth is not a huge multitimbral machine but it has a great palette of timbres. I know I am bias but the v-synth is quite an under-rated machine. The feedback osc fucking rocks man!!!!!!

I have not seen played with one, but it looks interesting. I am producing a band at the moment who have an old Minimoog.

I will hopefully play with that sometime this month.

hehe.. Well I think Ill spend most of my time behind that prophet emulation called Profit 5 Its more like a workstation that synth, it has ADAT, 8 chanells, u can hook it to laptop and play live and use studio effects live, u can have 4 synths in same time, thats enough for me, I tend to have different synths in tracks..
And that XT is also under-rated, but still costs much.. Thats main reason this Noah is also under-rated.. And now once its cheap, people dont even know it exists

An absolute dream synth for me would be this one!

http://analogik.com/instrument_polivoks.asp and it goes for probably less than the boring and overused Virus...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

well it depends on the moeny you havee

i own a virus snow and my g2 is coming home from europe now both i tested and i love them maybe you are right that ther overused but doesnt mean you cant make something original and killer with them
the ti is massive i tottaly recommend it is vst is like touching heaven
the g2 is a little bit more complicated but relle unique
i also tested the waldorf xt and is killer and tested the evolver mono rack and i love the sound and is relly unique and really affordable
if i were you and i ahve around 1200 dolares to spend i will go for a blofeld and evolver(USED IN EBAY YOU CAN GET IT FOR 400 DOLARES) OR a virus ti(you can make all the sound you want with these little guy

i hope i helpedd you
sorry for my english is not good
