I am going to be brash here.
The last year was musically very dull for psy. If everyone keeps getting the same synths it won't improve anytime soon.
Sorry if this upsets anyone, but I just had to get it off my chest.

im sorry but this is by faaaar a wrong correlation to say that last years music was DULL?? and its the synths fault ?????
ahaaahahahaha
its our fault mate and the ones whos using any synth and the way you mix thats going to produce a dull mix, a bad mix, a thump mix
and not a sound made on whatever virus, nord, xt etc
To reach to a point that youre going to blame an amazing sounding machine you have to be a synth guru imho, every synthesizer one has its positive and negative points, every one has its own timbre and having one to complement another is the best solution
Something i really want to get out of my chest, but really, is the lack of bass in most of the mixes i hear and the overuse of that disguasting Alien303, its pathetic sounding...and the Vanguard too ...
And since you say its all about the same synths, i suggest Sp4rx to buy a waldorf Q or a phoenix, so how many people you know having that one and how are you going to blame that synth that has 16 analogue filters, ppg , amazing oscillators and i cum only by watching it?
No wait, dont through your money on hardware... Buy a Vanguard, its the same sounding or maybe better LOL
Anyway... the machines dont make their own music, you make whatever you want and be responsible for whatever mistake is in there, not the same synth that everyone has and that synth must be Virus , since you refer on a dull sound and not at all an nord lead, theres no better FM sounding synthesizer and more aggressive than that and the sound really so bright..
said a lot.. make your search and have a good purchase on your new toy.

~d2~ im not sending anyone to sleep or try to convince, but if we like to have a conversation about synthesizers, we must be objective, if you say you identify a synth in a mix and that specific one is responsible for a bad mix is just nothing and tells me no information and no explanation and its just a generic thought, thats all.

My original post was purely subjective. Its my opinion. What makes you think you can claim that a subjective opinion is wrong?
If I had said 2 + 2 = 5 then I would agree if you said to me I was wrong. That would be objective.
I can't help but fall a sleep when someone starts banging on about a subjective view/opinion being wrong.
I stand by my opinion gutter. It is mine. No one has the right to take that away from me.

peace .. im not taking anything from anyone and i like to have your and lots of opinions to discuss but throwing something so general doesnt lead anywhere and in any conclusion and thats the case, i always try to explain and discuss as far my knowledge goes and to expand it and not to say just "that".

I am sorry if you, personally, find my opinion so 'general'
If I had a higher word count on my posts would you be happier? |

Other than what D2 stated (2 tape track recorder) what else could I buy such as a mixer that I can bounce down my audio through to make it a warm phat analog signal? |
