the style of vocals you are seeking is associated with the persian "avaz"

sorry i don't have a better translation or explanation, but like most 'classical music' this tends to defy and transcend words

(it would be nice to get more input on this here, especially from artists who use these forms specifically.)

i think you will find that GREG HUNTER does use PERSIAN vocals in his music.
