dark forest sample sounds ?? ..dunno what exactly u looking for there but theres sample cds for just about anything imaginable , Google , e mule and check some audio warez trackers etc .

Try to look for bird sounds, like owls and other kind of night birds. Wolves, insects like crickets.
Like Xun said, rain and wind are cool to.
And you can make your own twisted scary noizes.
There are wonderful bird sounds, like the ones I've heard in the movie Predator. Tropical forest sounds.
