OK, i dont know the first thing of what to do, I am not looking to become famous or play at parties, I just want to learn the ropes of making trance music. I am a writer, a starving one at that... need I say more... I have no money to offer, but barter is a possibility. I am living in the north and have car, will travel for lessons... drop me a line in message to get in touch with me. Look within yourselves, share the knowledge of the fine art. Also, my hebrew isn't the greatest, I am american-origin, seven years now in the desert... |

Don't learn from tutorials. Learn from experience! I've started about 1 year ago and I'm still learning. Only time will teach you... |

hey hank (or is it charles?:)) y don't you go the typical way: use your trance disks as a tutor (i mean copy/imitate in order to apprehend the techniques) and have "what you'd like to listen to" as a guide. Anyway this approach worked for me... oh, and ... work-work-work! |

Maybe Guy sebbag offers private lessons?? But than again maybe he does? Oh, just a sec... I'll call Avi and ask. Oh, hey lior, what? Avi ain't there? oh, he don't offer private lessons either? oh, well i'll talk to you later. And the moral of the story is: Chances are that making trance music is something that you develop only by yourself, can't learn it by going to local music school. And that's how skill develops better.

Alex, first of all, your sarchasm was uncalled for. It may be a joke to you, but something that at this point in my life interests me. I was just looking for someone to get me started, someone to instruct me which programs to use, how to use, where to get... you know.
Bilbo, yeah, I am a writer of poessey. Still unpublished except for an acceptance to Ploughshares, a magazine put out by Emmerson College in Boston... $5 for a fuckin' pome... The day will come.

Alex,
Making trance is an art. To obtain the skills to create this art one has to study. When u study alone, many times u make mistakes that u even don't know they are mistakes and continue doing it for a long time after which ruins your work and if u would STUDY u would save yourself from this.
The reason that there is so much 'low quality' trance around is that too many ppl think like u Alex ;-)
So it's about time we all agree -
Trance = Art
To make art u have to know it and know it well and one of the best ways to do it is to study from ppl that know it well. |
