any ideas where to find shamisen samples, loops, vst's or soundfonts? I'd really want to create a japanese-styled suomisaundi tune, but I need samples. Also I'm looking for liquid samples (i guess it's what they're called) or tutorials on how to make them.

like those in the beginning of this, those watery background sounds, they're awesome : )

Oh, and you might look at Vetrix Vstron. It's really good at making those squiggly, zippy, liquidy sounds at the beginning of that track. Just play with the filters and the LFO rates. Plus, it's free.
Also at 0:17 and 1:49 you could try the Delay Lama
http://www.audionerdz.com/ Or just Disco DSP Discovery with Formant filter and play with the resonance of the filter..
Also sample some toy sounds, beeps and peeps. and sample some donald duck film, or something like that..
Remember the funky feeling, and the happy funky vibe, Nordlead is perfect for this.
Good luck

haha that clip is brilliant.
But what is:
shamisen samples?
Soundfonts?
look for samples from warner brothers. I once found a very large sample catalogue of sounds they used in cartoons.
