Hi,
I am thinking about taking intensive classes of old school goa trance production later this year, instead of going on vacation. A one-week training period, or so. Obviously, paid lessons. Preferably in Europe. Cubase environment prefered. I am a beginner, and I want to compose one tune with a seasoned goa trance artist. If you like the idea, please let me know! Thanks

Dang... people shouldn't have to pay for these things.. I say the easiest way of accomplishing this is to get and know the artists you'd like to compose with - and this is easy, only society has made it hard (I bet when you were a 5 year old, you simply approached someone and said "Hi! My name is x, what's your name?" and you'd be best friends).
So, invade FB (blarc!), go to a bunch of parties and stay there till the party ends, helping out the crew clean up and tear down, and I'd bet you you'll know a whole bunch of people this way and have a change to get into a studio together
Elsewise, there's no guarantee you'll end up with a good teacher, and that your money will be worth-wise
Either cases, for sure there isn't a quick shortcut that will teach you what you want to know - just hang in there and let it flow

I chose this solution because I spend most of my time at work, I have no time apart from a few days in a year... And I don't hang around in parties, sadly!... I think dedicating one whole week learning is pretty efficient and I would have a lot of fun!

There are loads of people teaching at the minute, Alex from Sonic Species charges £25 per hour or £150 for 8 hours + in studio in london.
If you catch me at the right time i will teach you the basics for free, how to create your bass, kick drum and bassline patterns, groves etc.

Hi Goa Traveler. We need to talk! It just so happens I also work as a music tech tutor and my main platform is Cubase. Also, I've just re-engineered Silence from scratch for our live sets using the original 1995 Cubase sequence data and original samples. It sounds... pretty good.

Normally between £30/h and £50/h according to the student's ability to pay and number of hours requested. I'm flexible though, within reason, as long as you're straight with me about what you can actually afford. I can accommodate too if you book more than a day of tuition, for a small extra cost to cover food etc. If anyone wants more info please just email me
