hey guys!
i have started a new project under my real name, and stopped doing work under the alias xerxes (20 years was enough hehe).. anyhow - i am fiddeling with different kind of expressions.. and wanted to get some feedback from actual listeners, and not only other people who also make their own music. this tune is about 80-90% done, not really proper mixing and detail stuff done yet, but would like to know if this style is something i should pursue? i have lots of other work, but i kinda like this direction here... would be interesting to hear your opinion.
thanks in advance, and see you at aurora festival if you are there - my last gig as xerxes

Does give me a christianity feeling. For my taste a little too sticky, cheesy synth melody, although the first minutes were OK, than it is getting too long and boring.
Throw in some more alternative creativity |

I think it sounds really good. I think may be doing some more staccato sounds with echo's applied to them would sound better for the melody though.

thanks a lot for feedback fellas! and yeah, iT - i was thinking of adding some delayed/swirly stuff to go with the theme that the entire song is built around... i am very fond of longer songs that only tell one story - instead of drifting back and forth. in other words, not too much excitement anyhow - i know most people get bored.. but i like it.
thanks for listening!

Hm, what to say. I liked your album "the mirror formula" and all the other tracks of u, which I listend to, for the pureness, the clearness, the friendlyness of those tracks, which somehow touch me. This tracks is doing the same effect ... sure musically in a lilttle bit different way, but it`s still that effect, which I love.
I can`t and don`t want to give any technical instructions for changing it. |

I didn't get bored with it, I just felt that like that 8th note melody line could be echoed to make the melody a little more punchy.

I feel that the track quickly rises to its max in the first mins...
The main melody is really sweet
It also feels as if the track should start fading away by its 6th minute... in a way you choose. Giving it a broader start, will give you more to play with in the end I imagine.
Bare in mind that today's music doesn't move me at all, but it's probably me, not you and not the others... I think. So take my words lightly...
Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

thanks again everyone for wonderful feedback! i think i have enough to tweak the track where it should be now.. i went for that "epic" sound.. i think a bit more variation in the first few minutes - you know - a bit more going on.. some more clear melody parts etc.. then making the last part even bigger in sound.. so it actually sounds like a finale. this was helpful! much appreciated
all the best,
klaus
