Yo, you might want to check out some ambient house. You'd have to do some work with removing the percussion though--because it's often heavy on that.

The problem is that the sounds are not always as psychedelic as you might be after...
Otherwise...you could just peruse Ektoplazm and see if you come up with anything in the downtempo genre.
All I can think of off the top of my head mate..sry :/.
