It's gonna be full of happy dancing people I believe.

They share a booking agent (Infected got Simon in there)- so it's not such a big surprise...           ---------------------------------------------

ok Shahar, I am taking some slow breaths now.

it's just hard to see the two of them side by side, especially after this http://forum.isratrance.com/how-can-music-be-so-beautifull/

I know I'm being selfish with my taste but I probably speak for a lot of others here that have good taste.

on the other hand, maybe this is a perfect introduction to the psychedelic nature.

"We're an electronic band," affirms Amit "Duvdev" Duvedevani, singer and co-founder of the Israel-bred, Los Angeles-based psy-trance duo Infected Mushroom, "but when we became a full live band onstage, the reaction was so powerful that we knew we were inventing something new.

hmmmmmmmm ok! As far as I know there's been tons of bands prior to IM playing live. Sorry guys. You did not invent the wheel.          www.beatagency.dk

Is IM more popular overall than Shpongle? I mean among “regular people”.
If so, it’s a great way to bring Shpongle closer to the “regular” listener. After all, they do have a great deal of mainstream appeal. There is no good reason for him (them ) to be confined to an obscure subculture, while they can have a wider audience. Will they mutate like IM did as a result of this bursting into the mainstream – that’s a different question.

P.S. But in any case – Duvdev’s “singing” gotta stop!

UPDATE from John Wood!!!!! Now this sounds pretty good

"Shpongle and IM will be playing at lovevolution during the day and this is the after party. At the after-party, IM has agreed to play a classical mushroom DJ set. We're also attempting to get Simon to agree to play a Hallucinogen set--still working on that but it is probable. So the night would begin with an opening act, then Shpongle, then IM live, then Hallucinogen DJ set, then ending with a classical mushroom DJ set. Obviously this is a show aimed at the general public, so the intent is to introduce new people to both genres, but I've tried to throw in a few treats for the old schoolers. I asked Duvdev myself at Skills if he'd do a classical mushroom DJ set and he said they've not done it in a long time, but would consider for Lovevolution. Then they agreed. So that should be cool for sure.

IM live is what it is, but I also saw them two years ago and then again recently at the Skills show. There are new band members and I thought it much improved. And the kids loved it, almost blew the roof off.

that's the background.

As much as I don't like the recent IM material it's still eons better than most of what Americans can hear live. It's not like the golden age of the Electronic music is here and IM are the antichrist. Give me at least one American or heck, even European, Electronic music band that has a better LIVE gig like Infected does? And I mean a MAINSTREAM and a BAND. Not some cool guy with a fancy MacBook Pro.
Yea, the list is very short.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

I was lucky enough to see The Prodigy play at Brixton Academy in 96 and they rocked and quite a show!

when you are setting a float on a voyage of the high sea of the psychedlic you need a ship which big and well known, like QE II or cruise liner- which in this case is Infected Mushroom, which will attract the bees to give their honey money the captain of the ship which would obviously be shpongle, will also attract a large chunk of big bees but many of these big bees will ask for "free entry" to offset the cost you need Infected Mushroom to make what they make.
if anything the other psy artists should be thanking IM for some strange reason be thankful that IM has ventured out away from psy and into the electronic yet does these gigs with psytrance..to push the genre...Prodigy etc dont understand the genre. Eat Static will not attract money, IM will..again look at the bigger picture- you may not like their newer stuff, thats personal opinion but on the other side there is big fan following that has developed and through this they can push and promote other psytrance artists..cursing and abusing them will only make the other artists suffer..think about how you as an artist can leverage Infected Mushroom's fan base to promote your music..thats how viral promotion works..One small step for man A giant leap for humanity--enjoy the show           When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

Pendulum do a pretty good job:

Chase & Status:

Roni Size/Reprazent have been giving live electronica a good run for it's money since the 90's:

Live electronica has been done plenty of times, Infected's not doing anything new, they've just found commercial success in America.

Chase & Status are doing the same hting right now on their tour, whle Pendulum moved from Australia to the U.K and basically took over form where The Prodigy left off.

And to Xolvex, the point I'm making as did Elysium, is that Infected have not invented anything new by doing live electronic with a band.

And Eats Statis would attract money if they wanted to go down that path, but they are happy underground.

I just don't think IM have the right to claim they invented anything new. They just conquered a niche market.           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

So, what more "psytrance liveshows" are there?
i think infected are pretty alone there yes. invented this invented that.. sure there are some, but infected are the biggest. Their shows are nothing to compare to other psytrance bands with more then just one guy behind a computer. Sure prodigy, chemical brothers etc but i dont think they are the same kind of bands.
imo infected are pretty uniqe and they are doing killer shows.
and everybody in this forum wich they could join their band especially Elysium

cheers!

Yeah, it would be interesting to see an Infected Twizack show. Or better yet - Wizack Mushroom.

Just to clarify: they are not making psychedelic music now. Nobody is trying to say that about their old stuff, right?
