Any tips, recommendations, suggestions, advice on how someone can find the money for a long trip (more than 3-4 months' duration)?

I mean that, do you gather the money by working in your home-country before leaving for the journey or do you work during the journey?
How do you find the money in order to continue travelling?
Are there any potential difficulties that one may face during such travels that you feel that they should be mentioned?           http://www.facebook.com/pages/Acid-Waves/210623772399578?fref=ts

My name is peter and I want to share my holiday experience of India travel with you all. India which is truely incredible has everything you can look for, from mountains to deserts, beaches, rivers, waterfalls etc. People here are full of colors, traditional, helpful and full of fun. I went for 15 days tour to India specifically the Golden Triangle tour which includes Delhi-Agra-Jaipur tour the most beautiful 3 cities of india. My trip was fantastic and it was made extra ordinary by and india travel company goldentriangletouronline.com who have expertise and vast experince in the travel. I will soon come up with pictures and will share my diary that I wrote during Indian holidays.

@Spaced out rastman... Its better if u work and save money in ur country before travel. I dont know about work as each country has different rules. But u can earn though....
@ Peter .... Delhi-Agra-Jaipur are not the only cities in Indian which r beautiful... U shld go down south for a fullon nature trip and there r many other states and cities which the tour guy wont explain. ...

I heard many people who make some money in travelling places by working teaching english to locals. But is only a good idea if you plan to be there for at least 3/5 months, not just a few weeks.
My tip is to save money in your country, and work as a volunteer in foreing countries that can give you maybe free meals and acomodation.

Asia is great for long travels as its economical and enough volunteer opportunities. Ive heard the same about South America but havent visited yet.           "END THE OCCUPATION!"

I've been working 6 months in summer at home and travelling the other 6 months for the past 3 years. the key is to live very basically & simply at home and save save save, then travelling to cheap countries, asia is my favourite and not just because it's cheap...
