a not so wet reverb with long decay should do the work. i use Fruity reverb for this.

Stetch the sample a bit.
Try PaulStretch! It does a smooth grainy stretch..

http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/

Then add a long reverb. I like to the Soudforge verb.

Since the stretch reduces the crash slap, you can add a high pitch envelop to the first part of the sound to make it harsher.

thanks for the advices . this time strecth is not so helping for my opinion. the crash still dissapear abruptly with it. anyway i got closer with one of the unreal cubase reverbs (i don't remember the name now). but i didn't find a reverb that go very long yet. if anyone know of reverb that proceed very long i would like to know please.
i used also compression to raise the end of the reverb and then it's not decrease in volume very fast.

Or just apply stretch 100-150 ms from the sample beginning.
I love long crash tales, I use reverb to longer them, and delay with long feedback. I think any plugin will do.

do you put delay on reverb to strech the end of the crash?

Sometimes, when suitable.

Try a "plate" reverb... this kind of verbs are cool for sustained sounds like a crash one.

hey , just use a clap with a big reverb, export it , then cut out the clap 'hit'. use just the reverb of it .

Now play along with the crash .

thats the way to go, for processing nice and deep verbs try altiverb, U-HE Uhbik A(mbience Processor) or give aether a try. imo the most powerful reverb plugins one can work with....

I've been able to make some big reverbs with this: http://www.audiomidi.com/Breverb-audioMIDI-Edition-P12240.aspx

*Note: it doesn't come with some of the factory presets, but the ones it does come with work just fine. All the algorithms are the same as the full version too, so making your own is a possibility too.

I've found good success with Sonnox Oxford Reverb too.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound
