Hi all.

Me has a problem with logic..... me just got a HDD recorder, and me wants to sync it with logic..... buy... it doesnot seem to stay in sync, the tempo meter goes crazy and jumps between tempos, and the whole song goes wa-wa.....

I is using:

PC, Terratec ews88MT, Zoom HdD recorder, A-station synth.

In short, logic wont sync via midi clock with any clock source... i have tried other machines, and ihave thesame problem.... could it be my pc's sound card?

Help!

No, when i need to sync the multitrack, i must use logic as slave, since the multitrack doesnt respond to MTC in.

I also have problems when using my synth as the master clock? Could it be my midi ports? or my computer hardware? I mean, are these machines not good enough to supply correct timings??

might be the midi card in the computer....
though I think it would be best to run Logic as Master clock....           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Can't you sync them digitaly? (multitrack/logic)
Optical or something...

If it has to be midi...
...try your multitrack with a different soundcard...see if it works ok.

Ofcourse midi is digital!
My mistake...It was a force of expression...
I ment optical, adat, spdif, tdif, etc... sync.
Other than midi.

Sorry that.           "The Light Children Are Awakening!"

Now I now he wants to play them all together...           "The Light Children Are Awakening!"

Lol, you guys r more confused than I am.

I guess i'm gonna give up with the midi sync shit, I have figured out a way of doing it, it's a bit troublesome but it works.

This is how I did it:

Like I said, I have a zoom 1044CD multitrack with 40 g HDD, the format of the HDD is FAT32, so..... yep you got, I just popped open the back cover of the zoom and connected the HDD direclty to the computer, then i went to zoom's website (www.zoom.co.jp) and downloaded their filemanager software and a new version of the multitrack OS software. A quick read of the "read me" file in the zoom zip download told me that the OS upgrade was done by simply overwriting a few files on the HDD, did that, tested it and it worked! Now, comes the good part, the audio format of the zoom is WAV, but it has a twist, the file header is writen diferently and the extension is .DAT, so you must use the filemanager software to convert the audio. This is done by clicking a button in the zoom software and selceting the audio file(s) you want to put on the zoom....
By using this procedure, i save the hassle of having to RECORD the files on to the zoom, an operation that is done in realtime, as you all know, and is done in ANALOGUE (converted later by the zoom to 44.1 16 bit WAV)....

If anyone has a similar zoom product, you can use this method to organize, swap or even backup you data from the mt recorder.....

NO SYNC NECESSARY, lol

thanks for the effort, if u got any questions, just ask.

Greetz to all the technocrats
