Logic, Sonar 1300$

Hi everybody, I´m into decicing for which sequencer to buy. It´s a grand debate about x vs y. Interested in Sonar and Logic but i don´t have 1300$ so two days ago I got them from Gnutella.
I´ve heard so much good from both and I´m learning them so that I can decide. But haven´t found any good tutorials for Logic. Besides, it looks a bit dull compared to Sonar.
Help, Advice, Comments, I´d like to use the best for me.

logic is a very beautifull program, and it supports much more plugin types than Sonar.
i think the audio handling of logic is also superior to sonar.it is very friendly .
_BUT_ only to registered users :-/
and this is the main reason of the poularity of Cubase.
Emagic stopped supplying pdf documentation since 4.0 versions : only real books supplied with the CD by the resellers.(it's an encyclopedia actually)
if you have questions ... try this forum, but don't expect anybody to send you anything ... it's not the right place.

I was a bit skeptic because Yamaha was to add Acid like loop capabilities to Sonar, but hey, maybe Logic has them too?
Anyway, do I gain something if I buy Platinum instead of Gold besides tracks and plugins? I hope the manual is as thick.

OK, I wan´t to support good products so I´ll buy them. Anyway this is one of the best forums: you get help and theres no insane flaming or words.
