I find this a fairly decent place to as, would you guys recommend adding a slight, just sliight grove to a fullon bass?
like, dragging the midinotes just a little to the left and right in a way? i never sense any difference untill it sounds pretty ass.
yeah.. ass.
But i hear people do it?

ofcourse you can. you shouldnt be asking questions like this, just do it, man.
if it sounds bad, then make it sound good.
another thing is: kick and bass on its own can sometimes sound a little off and weird, but as soon as you add more elements such as hihats, leads and other stuff, with the same groove, it'll instantly sound much much better.
if you're on ableton: mark your notes, rightclick and hit quantization settings and choose either 1/8T or 1/16T. you'll see exactly how the notes are placed and use that as a reference |
