Hi
Can someone step me through the procedures of making a typical full-on psytrance kBBB bassline on Logics ES 2 synth.
Thanks

I usually use the minimoog or 303 sampler instrument patches, or ESM. Anyhow here's a basic ES2 channel strip setting and 24bars of what is sounds like in a rough mix.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/yygrzr

The bottom compressor is the sidechain compressor but when you save the channel strip setting, it does not save the sidechain input. In my case, its buss 10 as I send the kick there and select that input for any channel I wanna drop the level at every beat.
You simply select whatever channel your own kick is.

Start from there and feel free to ask any questions.

Peace out.

.cst files are channel strip settings. the same way you can save a preset on a synth, you can save the whole channel strip, including the synth preset, and every plug in you have in the signal chain.
You need to drag n drop the ES2.cst file in your Logic's channel strip settings folder.
Once you drop the .cst file in there, open Logic and then at the tab right above the small EQ window, hold click until you get a list of your channel strip settings.
Select the trance bass ES2.cst file.

Thanks heaps P&S. That was really helpful.
Could you step me through the procedures of creating a progressive bassline, say like Sensient's style or something. I've got all my other sounds worked out but i always have trouble with bass sounds. Thanks

Use the patch I sent you, but have a lot less envelope modulation on the filter. That bassline sounds like there are two oscillators detuned by an 8ve.

Peace out.
