Has anyone else noticed that logic 9 bounce in place of a soft synth with automation sometimes has a slightly different sound to a realtime bounce?

Judging from your responses, it looks like most if not all of the problems that people experience with their DAW's here, are a result of user error and lack of basic knowledge in how to use a computer.           >>> FOR SALE: Mac-clone OSX86 Audio Workstation <> Perfect computer for Logic 9 Pro <<<

If you all ready know how to use Cubase then stick with it, your wasting your time and money changing to Logic for no benefits.

Just use what you know instead or worrying wether your missing something or not - its about making music after all.

i like osx and logic 9 ,i worked very hard to get the sound i want and now i can say it s more easy thanks to logic (cause of the synths and other plugins).i was not expecting it would fit me so good for composing i m very happy with it but i would still use c5 for recording a band or mix it , i find it more easy for that. With not much experience i think the strenght of logic are for composing and offcourse the plugs he come with.

You could also install OSX on your PC and simply try Logic           http://facebook.com/ansolas

no one of u guys have encountered out of sync when recording hardware synths on Logic 8?

I still have that issue, the audio coming from the synths is before the 1st note, so it cannot be latency, when recording long files it goes again out of sync not only anticipated but randomly delayed so i have to cut every 8-16 bars

maybe the 9 is clean?           http://mystic-sound.com/releases/ioon-cosmic-downtempo-9314-oclock/

I could never get sample accurate recordings of my hardware synths in Logic. Tried the Unitor midi interface that was supposed to be perfect, tried the Midiman midi interface, but I always had some notes that were out of time, be it my analog modular synths, or the virus b, nord lead, sh-101, juno 60.
Nothing is as tight as the old Atari for sequencing hardware synths.

@disco, i was expecting it, so it's useless for me upgrading to logic 9, that was the only feature i was looking for, thx 4 rply

i'm so fuckin angry with my macbook constatly fucking up when i'm finishing 4 songs
system overload constantly bitching me up, and i have to restart with leopard dvd every time it go standby, problably cos permissions are fucked up but i have repaired with disk utility

I wanna tell that mac are just like any other computers
it's like having a normal girl (windows) and a glamour maked up fashion slut girl, the second is way much expensive but ,at the end of all
they both do the same job and they both sucks

i'm seriously thinking to sell that bitch and get windows and logic 5           http://mystic-sound.com/releases/ioon-cosmic-downtempo-9314-oclock/

I used to have a PC running Windows 98SE and Logic 4.xx/5.xx which was much more stable than my MacPro running OSX and Logic 7.x/8.
But its not as bad as you describe here...make sure you uninstall and dodgy software that makes you computer crash the way it does.

Definitely do not go back to Logic 5, just clean up your system and get on with making tunes using the new versions of Logic. Its definitely worth it.
As for hardware not being so tight, its like that with everything, I don't know how Cubase works these days, but SX was just as bad as Logic 5. Its a matter of going into the audio regions and moving some notes that went a bit off, back to the proper quantised place...although that is one of the main reasons I have gone all software nowdays...I just can't be asked to sort out out of place notes anymore, especially in trance tunes where synth modulation is long and constant in synth parts.
Best of luck with it!

PsyGalaXy,
what about strip silence -> select all regions -> Quantize -> X Fade?
Should fix those notes on time...           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Yeah, thanx i have never digged into audio quantization engine be4.
i tryied and it seems to works, obviusly except for pads and long notes when i replaced "strip silence" with manual cutting, and no quantization preset is useful (for leads)just leave blank.

The fact is that is so strange in 2010 we got to manually sync midi and audio in (il)Logic , i have got also an academic version Pro Tools (LE) and altough is strongly limited, when recording midi to audio it's deadly synced

So it's not hardware issue, it's not driver issue , it's logic
I'm going to archive&reinstall mac

For everyone who is bitching around with "System Overload" try these:
-In Preferences/Audio/General set the Track Mute/Solo to:Slow response CPU Saving

-In Preferences/Audio/Devices set Process Buffer Range to Large

-In Preferences/Audio/General UNCHEK the "Display audio overload message"
this one allow u to simply press spacebar when audio suddenly stop instead of being bitched from the pesky little window u have to click on with the bitchy apple error sound

I switched to Logic from Ableton Live. I'm still getting used the new workflow, but i the same time I miss many things about Live already.

The lack of proper midi to audio sync is really annoying, I thought i was the only one having these issues.
