ok, after saying how stable my system was, im now getting the lucky blue screens!!!

here's the prob: when i try to use some plugins (GRM Tools, Hyperprism, Waves) i get an error message saying 'Logic Audio has caused an error in blah blah plug in and will now close' - then my system either locks up or i get the blue screen blues (cant remember exact error... something about .VXD)
... and its happeniing to more plugins every day!!!

the plug in will open, but when i press play, it locks...

BUT, only in the track im currently working on!!! if i open a new track, with same audio file and plug in, it works!?!?

have tried re-installing them to no effect...

dont want to reinstall windows just yet if i can avoid it

System: PIII 1000mhz/256mg ram
       MSI mobo
       Windows ME
       Soundblaster live platinum 5.1

can anyone help???

thanx in advance!!!

reece :)

if u say it happens only in this track, you probably use not the right hardware driver for either midi or audio playback & record.
play with audio preferences, and different devices, and it will work.

Hey man this shit happens,

especially if the plug ins are cracked and then you mustn't have too much expectations from them to work perfectly...

plus i'm not sure how compatible LOGIC is with Windows ME so u should check this out also

Well re-installing the plugin will not help any, imho.. it would help more if you could post the exact error message(s) you are getting.. and also what kind of chipset is the MSI motherboard running on?

ok, the first error reads, for example:

'Logic Audio Platinum has caused an error in GRM Tools Pitch Accumulator and will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer'

if i click ok, or try to restart (ctrl+alt+del) it blu screens,... have to get back to u on exact error...as i said, something about .VXD's...

also, mobo runs on Intel 815e chipset...

thanx :)

Problems could be these:
1- Your system is configured that way there's a conflict somewhere and couses the system to holt.

2- You're SB configuration in Logic or its drivers are cousing the shit to happen

3- You're computer is so fucked up you need to buy another one - Just Kidding!

anywayz... don't reinstall windows yet.

and optimize your system (I hate windows ME) through this site:

thanx phillip, will check the link, tho i've already done heaps of optimizations...

checked also, no conflicts in device manager...

probably is a driver problem, using cubase 5 direct x to asio converter driver in logic... but's been working sweet....till now!

thanx!

ASIO drivers in non-ASIO compatible cards are mostly crap.
so either you buy an ASIO compatible card... or you can also use EASI in Logic - and Logic comes with the EASI driver in the directory :)

you can try and reveal.

guys, windows me is not different in audio than win98.the changes are in other things, so logic will work with winme.
about the card..
look into this site:
http://come.to/sblive
they have a really good ASIO driver.
i think it works fine with WinMe, anyway, i don't remember, so check the installation instructions, the FAQs etc.
now about the plugin.
as i understood from the earlier info it happened only in specific track, but now i understand it happens in specific plugin... fix me if i'm wrong.
sometimes, when a plugin is installed and then not uninstalled properly, there's some confusing crap in the registry left. what needs to be done is a real registry cleanup:
1)try uninstalling the GRM stuff, and then
2) run "regedit" program, of course with care.
u need to delete all the GRM mentionings in the registry (unless it's some program's last open files or something).
3)after this, run the plugin enabler, and make sure you don't see these plugs.
4) install them again.
of course do reboots when Billy asks you to.

stay tuned, or pm me.
BOM.
