O.K...I launch Kontakt in Cubase SX.I load 3 "instruments" into Kontakt.First of all I send each of them to 3 different stereo outputs in Kontakt (1-2,3-4 & 5-6),then I send each one to a different midi "output" again in Kontakt so each channel will play one instrument.I then create 3 midi channels in the arrange, conect them all to Kontakt but each to its own midi channel (1,2 & 3).The same can be done easily even in FL Studio using its "Midi Out" plug-in.I hope you still with me...Now,in Cubase it's all fine and easy but how I do the same in Logic using EXS24???(I map each sample over the whole keyzone!!!).THNX.          ===>

I don't think EXS is multi timbral.
although you can send groups to different exs outputs - why would u need a whole zone to be triggered? that's in the extremes.

If you are into using different outputs with EXS (which I never do), it's all should on the same midi channel. just open more exs samplers if you need more - exs uses very small amount of cpu.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

What version of logic are u using ?
I think it's possible from logic 5 or 5.5...
Go to the exs...press edit....choose the sample that u want 2 give another output channel...& now choose a different (audio) output...simple...
For midi output ? Why would u wanna do that ?
To make different controller data ?
Just open more samplers....like Trip said....

The reason I want to be able to do this is because Logic EATS into my CPU (P4,1.7MHz,256MB,SBLive!,no ASIO drivers).

There are no problems with audio channels...but when I use 5-6 effects the CPU goes to 50-70%.I tested FL Studio ReWire with Logic & Cubase:with Cubase running 16 ReWire channels,4 audio tracks & 10 effects the CPU went 'til 70%.With Logic I got 90-100% just with ReWire.Maybe there is something wrong in Logic enviroment...

even if you have 100% peaks in logic, it doesn't mean u're cpu is about to die soon. My cpu dies only when the cpu shows only 100 and nothing else... just the red line

running as many exs as you want is the answer. by default I run 12 exs samplers all the time.          Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

But there is also this "midi out of sync" problem...           ===>

So basically you're saying that EXS24 is not multitimbral like other samplers?
