hy there mate .. the problem is right there .. i was using one intel pentium 4 at 2.6ghz ... with 1 gb of ram ... with one hdd of 40 gigs .. and with a sound card delta 1010 ... and i was several system overload .... lots of them .. almost break my computer with nerves because of that l...
so what i did .. ichange intel to AMD ... i put one AMD 2600+ more week that my intel in speed ... and i bought one new hdd 120gigas ... what i did ?
intal windows on the amd machine .. ive putted the 40 gigs disk like the windows disk c:
and the 120 gigs disk ive puted for music onli d: .. were i instal logic and all files u need samples .. etc etc ... then ... they are plenty of stuff u can disconect from windows .. they are just taking processes from our machine .. like hardware monitoring .. effects ... vrutal memory ... automatic updates .. etc etc ... s
and since i made this change .. i can tell u that the track ive made ... the more bigher in process ... that i need to bounce and bounce again the audio track just to run the track ,,,, tday i run this track ... without any kind of latency .. its just run perfeclty without any stress .. and now i put the double of dsp inside it .. and the double of audio tracl .. and the pc is running always fucking fast
more one thing .. i was used to use my buffer from the sound card a little bit with higher values because smale values wouldnt start ,,, so now i use them at 128 and ... i can put the more heaviest track and it just eat 40 - 50 % of the total process from the cpu .. so ... automaticaly it run perfectly
try this changs maybe u like |

Beside trying diffrent configurations you should know that Logic isn't supported anymore on Windows. So it might be incompatibility issue. My advice is either buy a Mac or go back to Cubase.

Poor guy don't wanna ditch either logic or his computer I guess!!
There is plenty of tweaks to do before you do that.
Logic still works very good on a PC, but XP needs a lot of optimisation to be nice.
There is some good sites on tweaking for audio, mentioned in some earlier threads here.
Also you can have a look at http://resoearth.gotdns.com/budz_XP-tweaklist_v1.1.txt
Not the most up to date tweaklist, but most of the stuff in there is tested to work well with logic.
The most critical things being pagefile settings and services trimming.
Good luck |
