very easy........

...First conncet the midi cabble ou on your output chanel on cpu..and than connect on midi out chanel on your midi controler....

....than, on arrange window, add a new chanell....click port....select -> midi out 1....

...enter the chanel, you be able to see your midi enveroment.....

.....follow this way.......1st->sound card connecct to keybord...2cond->keyboard connect to input view...3rd->input view connet to -to reccording & thru....

...iff you follow this when you play notes at midi controler...you be able to see the notes on (input view)iff not...something is wrong with your sound card or you didnt set the midi driver of the sound card on logic hardware setup....

The problem is not the sound, i want to assign the controller knobs to the synths knobs. I didn`t undestand your solution but thanks man.

your midi controller manual has full info about how to asign different midi instructions to a knob/slider and how to save those changes as banks and change em as your likes, that way u can have in bank a es1 parameters, bank 2 esm and so on...

u might also need your synths manuals to know which cc are assigned to the parameters u want to modify...

That sounds ok but i was refering to enviroment assining, at least i was told that was the only way, to create those controls from the enviroment, but mm...really don`t know how to.

Go in the environmentand go to the audio page where you can see all the faders.
create new monitor and connect it with the fader/channel you have the instrument plugin on(when you select the fader ,turns grey and you can see a symbol next to the EQ.Drag from the EQ > down to the monitor.
Open the plugin by doubleclicking the plugin on the fader and turn the knob you want to assign. On the monitor that you just created you will be able to see the values that correspond to that knob.WRITE THE VALUES DOWN.eg. F 2 25 68..69..70(0-127)

Now go to clicks&ports page and create a monitor (if you don't already have one ), a
keyboard and a transformer.
(Assuming that you already have the Physical Input and Seguencer i/p(rec%thru)_if not just add them too)
The order they need to be connected is
From Physical o/p to keyboard i/p
from keyboard o/p to monitor i/p
from mon to transformer then add another monitor (so you have MON>TRANF>MON) and from the second monitor to the Sequencer i/p(rec&thru)

Now that everything is connected in this order turn a knob on your midi controller to see the values on the 1st monitor. WRITE THE VALUES down
.eg. 'symbol'1 105 68..69..70(0-127)
The first symbol indicated that this is a Controller.
Then double-click on the transformer:
On the Contitions set the
Status, Channel, Pitch to =
and Vel to INSIDE
Now on the boxes that appear underneath the parametres write the values from the midi controller.
Eg.Control 1 105 and for the Inside boxes first 0 and 2nd box 127 (to indicate the range of the controller from 0-127)

On the Operations now set the parametres to FIX except from the last one that you should put on Range.
Also on the first fix parameter select FADER
Write the first values you wrote down from the plugin eg. F 2 25 ,68..69..70(0-127)

Now if you turn the fader on the midi controller you will see the first monitor writing the values of the midi controller and the 2nd monitor the values of the plugin. Now that the values are being transformed go back to the audio where the mixer is(where you connected the monitor) and open the plugin.

Now you can see the fader of the plugin corresponding to the midi controller knob and you can create even more killer sounds

Boom

It worked, but i have a couple of questions:

1-How do i save this set up? i mean on roder nor to do the process again, just load it.

2.What if i want to assig more knobs of my controller all the 16 knobs to differetn parameters,do i have to repeat the same process 16 times or is there a way to assig varios controls in once.

thanks, really made my day.

hey man
sorry i hadn't login for some time.
to save the set-up in the environment you need to save as template.
Templates act as different set-ups for different projects.
You can create templates as you are on a current project to save the set-up for that track so that you can use it on different projects or you can use one of the templates in logic found when creating new track in the powerbook and Cinema Display files.

The stored set up inludes all the important things you'll need (number of audio and midi track available, environment and mixer properties).

For your 2nd question you have to excuse me my friend...xexexe..i asked once and someone told me exactly what to do but by the time i came home i could only remember half of the things....so...

what i can tell you is that its done from the transformer and basically you have to see the parametres of all your knobs and if the parametres are say from number 20...27 you subtract lets say for controller 21 (21-20=1 ) and so on.... if you figure it out let me know...if i do...i'll let you know..xexexxe

ps: and just for the record i'm not a man...

I might be bothering too much with the subject, but don`t see the option how to save the setting/template?

No man its cool
To save as template go to the project you are currentrly working with your set up environment and go to file> save as template.

Btw Logic works better if you always save as project instead of just saving the file since it creates a project file with all the things you were working on, in a single file.

So what i would suggest is to save as project
(and make sure you create a file on your HD which will contain alla your projects-so that nothing's gone missing and you can always know where the folder is.
So create the file and then go to the arrange window and drom the file menu select Save as Project.

http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/9907/2project8ez.jpg
Wait until it finishes saving and you get a confirmation that's is being saved succesfully- otherwise it might cause some problems again .
Then save as template....!!!!
Now if you close all your projects and create new from the file menu it will come up with a window for creating new songs/projects etc.
http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/9363/3newsongtemplate0at.jpg

Now if you have saved as template you will be able to see it there and select your template for the new song/project.

Hope it works.
For multible assignment i'll let you know but for the time being you can create different transformers for different knobs(name them before you get lost..)
