Whats up!!
i read somewhere that the new version of Logic (8) maybe will not be any more, beacause there is going to be a new software with another name...
is that true??? somebody knows something?

well im on 5.5 for pc for years now...
i guess even if they stop the latest version for mac will still be good for like 84058454 years before the competition comes close

i read the rumour was they are going to rebadge it and make it competitive with pro tools.
so its not abandoned, just in a new guise. just a rumour though too.
i have heard complaints about logics midi timing too, it can skew a bit. |

"We´re aware that we devote a great numer of these hosterly-based columns to discussing the goings on at Apple, but because they´re so damn secretive, speculating on the company´s future plans has almost become an occupation for some of us.
Recently there´s been a lot of chatter about a new version of Logic... or rather the lack of. One wild rumour is that this will never be released; instead, the theory goes, we´ll see a brand new application that will only run on OSX 10.5 ( aka Leopard), with support for some as yet-unannounced Apple touch screen display.
We´d be amazed if all of this came to pass, but it seems more and more likely that Logic will be subjected to some sort of major rebrand before long.
We´ll also entertain the idea that any new version will be Mac Intel only...

This would be totally senseless considering:
1 - such a bombastic news would never arrive here at forums before they want
2- Apple is a pretty serious and professional company that can handle product line changes They are marketing experts.
3 - I wonder who would ever risk his own position at Apple by making it public??
I think people get too worried and obsessed for new software updates without needing it. I d tell you folks that all the best software sequencers available such as Nuendo, Logic, Cubase, Ableton Live and Protools are capable of bringing perfect professional results.
Keep in mind that all great productions we ve been listening for the last years were made with software versions that don t go over the ones existing today as I post this reply(that s obvious, just want to reinforce it).
So, don t waste your rest time worried with such insignificant fears about the future, cause you already have enough tools available to make great works and tracks. I know a lot of producers that still use Logic 5.5 for pc and are really happy with it.
That s it guys, lets focus on music rather than incoming equipment to do what already can be done without them.
