Just wondering, When you have finished writting your tune in logic is it best to bounce the mix or to record through yor soundcard via your mixer in to an audio track?           www.audio-presto.co.uk post production audio and synth modifications / repairs.

if you have an analog mixxer wich can warm up the sound, or if you want to use the eq on your mixer or any effects wich are connetcted to your mixxer, record via the sound card and mixer...if not, just bounce it
therse no reason not to...

I think but im not sure that you can even set a bounce on another stereo output that you have (or don't have), without hitting the record of an audio channel.

Route Output 1-2 (master) to one of your hardware mixer's input channels. Route the channel you picked (or if you don't have that then the mixer masterout) through whatever you need, and back to input 1-2 (example) of you soundcard.
If you create a channel in the mixer audio enviroment and assign it to input 1-2 (which where your mixer master out is connected to), set it to 0dB - and route it to output 3-4.
You don't have to hear output 3-4 then it should be disconnected from any cables... and maybe even muted in the soundcard mixer (Logic should still play the audio but the soundcard won't sound it).

hit bounce on channel 3-4!

Logic will write the audio in Output 3-4 to a wav, that is coming from input 1-2, which is routed through outside gear which connected to output 1-2 - that was your master channel in logic originally.

there you have, a healthy soundcard->gear->soundcard operation

haven't tried it but it seems very LOGICal...

PS: Because of the long route the audio travels, there will be a silent gap in the begining of the wav....          Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...
