Just copy the VSTi DLL files into Logic VST instrumetns directory. and ReOpen Logic.
I'm not sure Logic can rewire to Reason. I''ve never tried that and I haven't heard anyone that have.

Hi there
You must press mouse right button and keep it pressed ,then you shows up a list where you choose MIDI /AUDIO instrument and then you choose audio instrument after you go to the mixer (double click it)and you select wich VSTI do you want to load to the VSTaudio engine !!
In the "pattern" matter you maybe want to say GROOVE FOLDER ??If its this its in the column above the midi channels settings.
Im not sure that Logic is REWIRE compatible cause im a Cubase Fan !!
Glad i could help amigo !!

As far as sequencing a VSTi in logic, first in the arrange page select one of the audio instrument midi channels (audio inst 1-24). This is where u draw in a part & add midi information in the matrix just like any other midi channel. Then in the mix window u must load the VSTi into the corresponding audio instrument channel (hold down right mouse, select from menu). with certain VSTi's u can also select which midi channel u which to send on (mercury, waldorf ppg & others are multitimbral, so they can receive midi on several channels, but unlike in cubase or nuendo, logic can only send one set of stereo outputs to the mixer
Rewire i'm unsure of, sorry |

i whish someone would work out how to intergrate software well
like, i downloaded the demo of reason but hated the sequencer, wanted to run it from cakewalk, but despite every set up change i made the destructive interference and breakages caused when sequing from cakewalk was attrocious, and it wasnt possible to control everything like setting up patches effects instruments etc. in cakewalk
but i really really hated the way the sequencer in reason worked
in my erxperience things just dont seem to work well when it comes to computers, but i cant afford to expand my hardware any more at the mo
the problem with what you want to do is you lose the fun of actually being able to control evrtything diretly, unless you can succesuflly set up every control on say one of your softwynths to patched to a midi controller in logic
it gies me such a headache |

Reason is not a VSTi, it is a standalone program that was intended to be used as such (like rebirth, fruityloops etc.). VSTi's (reaktor, pro-52, halion) are just like plugins that u load into slots in logic, nuendo (or even fruity 3). with the VST2 standard these plugins can receive midi information (note on off, any of the 0..127 assignable midi controllers) directly from the sequencer with great accuracy (actually better than hardware, no midi lag down a cable etc). As long as u use a good sequencer with good VSTi's u can use software just like it's hardware (except it will use a lot of your computers available power to generate many sounds live (if u are using quality instruments), which is the main reason that i mostly use hardware synths.
p.s. logic is not hard to use, it just takes a while to learn (as do most programs that have a lot of potential). The main reason i use it over cubase/nuendo is because it comes with 2 incredible inbuilt instruments - the EXS24 sampler & ES1 synth. |

it has ES2 now
sure it has many more plugins I love.
but mostly I use it because it's so fast and stable on my computer - not like cubase. I prefer speed and reliability.

ES2 does look very exciting. ES1 sounds great but is a little basic (only LP filters) so i only used it for bass sounds mostly.
don't have LAP 5 yet
there are so many things that keep bringing me back to logic - the tape delay , bitcrusher, Fat EQ, Platinumverb (very nice) but also it just seems to have a very professional look & feel. |
