both are good... and complex. the learning curve should be the same. Any that u pick will bring great results at the end(with hard work).
good luck |

I'm a logic user myself....
But for u, as pc user, i'd go for Cubase....'cause it keeps developing for pc..(altough i heard some rumours emagic will make a new version for pc )
But untill these rumours aren't confirmed, i'd go for sx...
Maybe this rumours are never going 2 happen...so why wait...
Good luck....happy producing !!! |

PC = cubase
Mac = I'd prefer Logic
honestly, I'd prefer Logic on both but I allways advice Cubase for PC.

depends on how you like working really. If you like destructively processing audio with plug-ins in Cubase/Nuendo then that's something Logic doesn't have (I hear), but you can just mixdown a solo channel with inserts on it for the same result. Personally I don't understand how to use Logic properly, but I hear from some pro producers that 5.5 plus a couple of other programs and hardware do all they need to produce on the PC.
On those Logic rumours, I thought Apple bought Emagic and now there wouldn't be any more PC versions. ??

I use mostly Cubase but stating to learn Logic a bit.
Cubase is more user friendly to me
(the inbuilt vst arent as good)
Logic is a little harder
(but the synths in it are killer)

both beats each other in some aspects, i love cubase's interface, very easy and friendly to use, but the logic's plugins and synths are sometrhing that you cannot miss (it comes to my mind the es-m and the wonderfull bitcrusher), i personally hate logic's interface, i found it very rude for my own taste
logic also doesnt "like" some plugins like the waves ones among others... mostly becuase emagic doesnt have support for pc products anymore so the newest plugins are not necesary tested in logic anymore
another thing i like from cubase is the freeze function, i work mostly on audio but this allows me to keep the midi tracks and instruments settings "freezed" (instead of unload them from the instruments panel) if i want to make further changes or maybe for remixing work i just unfreeze the instrument without going to the top on the cpu usage....

I personally find Cubase a lot more intuitive and it comes with an awesome interface! IMHO there's no "real" competitor on the PC platform. You cant go wrong!

I am slowly starting to learn Cubase just for fun. I am a Logic user on the PC and I do admit that it seriously took me 3 months just to figure out the interface.... I am in love with the native plugins that logic has, and now that I know what I am doing, the interface is easy for me.... Unfortunately you can't upgrade any further...
