Hey guys,

before i go and make a fool out of myself, im a noob to production. just got myself an axiom 49 and have logic studio 8.

except for the axiom 49 being quite complicated to setup ive got some questions.

If i download plugins/samples from the net.. how can i make sure they are compatible with logic?

which plugins/samples are recommended for psy production on logic?

I went through ultrabeats and basically didnt find anything proper, but thats probably cause i need to tweak the bass sounds.

uhm what else... to be honest any advice would be good! plz help! feel free to add me on msn (just pm me for details)

You have all you need to make tunes using Logic's native plug ins.

On the subject of downloading 3rd party plug ins, make sure they are Universal Binary, i.e. the format that your Mac works with.

I make all my kicks in Ultrabeat from scratch. The ESM and ES1 soft synths, are good for bass.

hey mate you probably shoud read the forum a bit more to get answers to such general questions.

in brief, there is no special psychedelic synths, plugins or effects. everyone uses the same synths for all music styles. its all about what you tweak, not about what do you use. to that, its easier to make 20 different sounds with 1 synthesizer you know and like than tweak 20 sounds with 20 different synths you see the first time.

though i'm heavy pc / cubase user, i had experience with logic 8 and can asure you that all the synths and fx it has are awesome. there aren't much third party vsts of that quality. what you should really do is give it more time and you'll get it. howerver if you still want to try out something else, pay attention to Z3ta, Vanguard, Discovery, Zebra, Sylenth, Rapture.. there are plenty of them actually.

as for the kicks, soon you'l figure out that trance basic kick drum is quite easy to do. however i uploaded some kicks for you to start with. this is an archive which i downloaded for Active Neo Psy Records site http://www.sendspace.com/file/4z4jib

good luck!

thanks mate glad you like it. yes everything is made in logic 8 using logic native synths and processing plug ins only.

as for 3rd party plug ins, zebra 2 is good, reaktor 5, albino 3. the only reason i dont use those is because my partner's macbook in only 2core and we make everything on my quad macpro, then move it to his and the cpu has to be within the macbook's range.

i am a firm believer that most synths these days, can sound totaly great, just a matter of spending time on them and knowing what you are aiming for.

peace out.

make you own bassline 24 bit mono in ES m, Sampler Instruments exs 24 is the best choice.
