I'm thinking of doing an upgrade to my current PC (AMD 2500+).
As we all know, Logic can only use a second core with the I/O plugin trick. I was thinking of buying a single core CPU - unless maybe you guys running multi-cores are happy about it.
Maybe Pverb tests are best to see how things are doing...
I'm going to test my system and post test results here soon. I encourage everyone to do this test and maybe make my life (and others too!) much easier
Besides, it might get interesting to see...

Hey Trip, what's the I/O plugin trick? I missed that one somewhere...

| wanted to add that, if you insert an I/O effect plug in (found inside: Logic-Helper-I/O) on a channel - ANY channel - then assign the I/O plug's output to an output and then bypass the plug - you have then permanently 'assigned' the processing for that channel (and all processing for any bus channel it feeds to) to the 2nd CPU.
this works for Audio Instruments too. |
