Support ur blood ''promoters'' if u wanna get feedback.. otherwise leave this job for someone else 
have u ever seen in japan bringing foreign dj's?NO!
have u ever concern why?
they support their mates..their crew..something that will never happen here...
i'm referring to japan coz is one of the biggest scene and they have the most professional promoters..
respect to :...they know who they are....You know who they are..

hey inner state.dont worry that much..imagine that ppl who worked for olympic games 2004 they still not get payed...ehehheeh
as my friend said above..if they dont pay what u agree dont spin ...

Japan doesnt invite foreign djs to its events?
Well i am in contact and have worked in the past with the likes of Solstice,Vision Quest,Mother,Sirius and Noga Records (who mostly work with Israeli artists),Stargate (that unfortunately doesnt exist anymore),Arcadia (that thankfully doesnt exist anymore) and couple of others and all of them work exclusively with foreign artists (and even with contracts where specific artists play just for specific organisations) except ofcourse for the warm up djs which are indeed Japanese and people who are part of their crew like i guess it happens all around the world where each crew has its own djs.In Japan (where unfortunately the scene is falling down) foreign artists and djs are essential.
Locals dont sell in any country (oudis profitis ston topo tou) and while Wizzy Noise are huge superstars in Japan they rarely get booked to play in Greece and the same happens with UK and French artists and many more.
Apart that one must consider that in our days not many djs are well known and often booked like in the past,i mean apart 5-10 djs like Edoardo,Shane Gobi and Dimitri Nakov i cant think of many other people who perform regularly just for being good djs,promoters mostly want to book people who are well known artists even if these artists will perform a dj set in the party.In order for someone to get a lot of bookings he must also be a good producer if you ask me.
Now about Greece yes the locals are underpayed but also one must consider that in every city everybody thinks that he is a dj,i mean just in this section half the people are one way or another considered as producers or djs,well i guess only the really good ones will be able to survive,take Doc for example the guy is considered to be probably the best dj we have with many national and international appearences although he is not a producer as far as i know,well he must be doing things right in order to reach so high like being a very good dj in both technical and music aspects and maybe he should serve as an example for all those wannabe djs in this country,i mean half the "djs" in Greece dont even have a pair of cdjs in their home for practice so how the heck they expect to evolve and become better and get more bookings?
When someone is good at what he is doing then sooner or later he will get payed what he deserves and if some people think that some organisers are not good and dont treat them with respect then simply ignore them and dont work again with them. Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!! |

Nice to see that a lot of people answered the topic even though only one of them is a promoter.....after reading all the posts i will answer to each and every one of them....
1) to atropa : you say at your post ate that youhave no complains about eternal motion moonsun or plasmatica cause you got your money from them....i have no reason not to believe that but please keep in mind one thing....you played at their parties maybe a couple of times as an artist coming from athens to do your live set and not as a dj that played for them numerus times to have a complet opinion on their way of behaviour...
As for moonsun and his parties , i think i made it clear enough that i am only refering to thessalonikis promoters so he is excluded...
2)to moonsun....Well nick you started your first post on the point but lost it somewhere in the middle...the money issue beetween a promoter and a dj is not a bargin man....it doesnt depend on how many people the dj will bring...the more you bring the more you get...its a done deal....you play 2 hours or 1 hour or what ever for an amount of money....and you expect to get that amount....offcourse the promoter will pay you more if on regular basis you bring him more and more people but that is an issue that the promoter should consider when MAKING the deal and not when seeing how the party did....WHEN YOU MAKE A DEAL NO MATTER THE AMOUNT....KEEP THE DEAL!!!!....thats the main issue....on the other hand i think you are too far away to really know whats going on in thessaloniki....maybe in athens all promoters are more prof or they pay what they agree but please if you dont know first hand the situation here dont rush into conclusions....
3) to detox....i read your post man and allow me to say that i dissagree with you in certin point...you talk about how famous a dj can b in relation to his amount of booking but this is not the issue mate....its getting what you agreed on...offcourse the more famous you are the more bookings and money you get and i tottally agree but the point here is that nommatter how famous or good you are you should still get what agreed.....and another thing....you give as an example Doc....yes i agree that he is maybe the most experienced and for most people the best dj in greece.....but do you really think that is the reason that he always get payed no matter what?...All promoters will tell you the same things about doc....1)He gets more because he is the best and because he brings people to the party....wich is 100% accurate...but in my opinion there is more to it....Doc is far more respected and connected than the promoters themselves both to the lockal and international trance community.....As a resul t he gets what he gets NOT ONLY because of the reasons that i described above(wich i repeat they tottaly true) but also because IF DOC opens his mouth.....empires will fall.....and thats no common secret
4) to acidance....as i said previously man...the point is not the money....fuck the money....most lockal djs do it first for fun anyway....its a matter of keeping your word and your part of the agreement like you would like the other side to do so.....thats how bussiness is done i think in all countries nommatter the importance of the booking or the fee agreed.....
5)and finally to free freequency:
Zoi dont come in here to explain to me the aspects and the expences of a party....we started free frequency together remember?...and for 1 1/2 year we kicked ass and managed to bring the prog scene together....i know exactly how much a party costs and all the detailed expences ....you speak about rising competition and more promoters doing parties all the time wich is correct , but if you think that this is the reason that your parties go from bad to worst....check again....all the prog scene of thessaloniki knows what resistance and anti parties and accussations we both faced in the early days of F.F and we managed at that time to pull most of the parties succesfully......so what you think changed since then?...nothing at all....you still have parties on the same days and you still stab each others backs with all the other promoters in any given situation...that hasnt changed a bit....where is the standart people of F.F zoi?...where is the spirit that once used to differentiate f.f parties from all the others?...they turned their back at you ....why?....beacuse they have other options?...no ....they dont go to other promoters parties as well...i wouldnt like to refer to names and situations that will open your eyes in this forum cause its not peoples bussines.Think it for your self....its always easy to blaim somebody else for mistakes that we have done rather than accepting responsibility for them and correcting them....Even if there is no other parties you will still see your crowd beeing redused in numbers ......You speak of the new djs that appearred playing for free most of the times and i agree that this is something that should trouble the lockal djs....i also agree that not everybody from the lockals have played abroad and some are better than others....So is that a good enough reason NOT to keep your part of the deal that you agreed with them?...think that when choosing your line up and when arranging the fees with each and every one of them....not when the party fails....And please keep in mind that nowdays the lockals bring with them at least 30% of the people in the party that come to listen to THEM and have fun as a group than to listen to the artist....thats what people missed in parties and thats where you lost the point of the hole thing...... |

and the other thing there is klikes beetween djs in the city and anybody want to eat each other

Dj and klikes is another issue man....the point here is payments....and believe it doesnt matter if you are in a klika or not....you will still b treated the same way by the promoters....you will still chase them after the party for what ever you agreed on....thats what brings lockals closer than ever man believe it or not |

as u mite know parties is something i do for fun
djing is what i usaly do most and run my label
i know
beter than all what artists get or not
and as i said in each country residents get less
than what guests get.plus i play 2.30 hours dj set

k plus my friend i think you still didnt get it....yes i agree there is indriges and djs also fight beetween them....But that has got nothing to do with their relation to the promoters....playing for a promoter and getting payed is an exchange of servises.....dj sell their servises to promoters and promoters sell their servises to people....Their relations inbeetween them is not the point....so what if all djs where friends?....would they get payed you think?....Moonsun i dont care about your bussinnes mate....do what you want to do in athens and pay who ever you want to or not according to your believes...Run you label and your parties for whatever reasons and for what ever price.....this is not the issue!!!!i know who you are and i have met you personally....but you are in athens man not here.......so i can not accept your comments as a back up to thessalonikis promoters....allow me to know them better |

but as i see most locals must be paid every time beacause i dont see any post from them..
i dont play trance anymore but i still know how things are..
and the things are as they were always(promoters fights,wrong deals etc..)but with one big diference..
before ff or kreon or miditown for examlpe parties were sucesfull when they atented more than 500-600 people
now this number is only a dream..
promoters make their choises and they pay them..
that goes also to the djs.
