@ viral virus .....i had stated in one of my replies as to how the the scene started in early 80's and so on ..
that live what u r talking abt is a lot different to the live sets of now ...here v know what track it is when the artist plays it ..
in those days it used to be created instantly at that moment ..if u could understand what i mean .. or else read this
i know how it all started in
the early days
roland kick drums TR 909
roland acid sounds TB303
roland SH 101
and many more things were used to make live music
Specific Goa sounds
Kick drum : TR 909
Like in many other EDM, the main element is the kick drum. Yet, in Goa Trance, it is quite dominant. The sounds used are mainly coming from the Roland TR 909 drum machine. This machine, released in 1984, was the last of the Roland drum machines to incorporate analogue synthesised drum sounds. It was possible to shape the sound using rotary knobs on the front of the machine to adjust parameters. As these machines are now hard to acquire, most Goa trance artists use samples of the TR909 or similar vintage drum machines in their work.
Acid sounds : TB 303
Extensively used in house and commercial club dance music over the years, the Roland TB 303 is responsible for many of the acid bleeps, squelches, squishes and whooshes found in traditional psychedelic trance. Today, these sounds are mostly obtained thanks to the use of sampled sources manipulated using the filter section of the sampler. Though, the influence of the TB303 sound can still be heard in many Goa trance tracks.
Two great classics : the Roland TB 303, already mentioned, or one of its clones (Syntechno TB-303, TBS-303), overused in the past, or the Roland SH-101. We can also mention the Roland Juno 106 or the Roland Jupiter 6

firstly u say there werent any live sets 4 to 5 years back , then you say they werent there 2 to 3 years back , now you say live sets are different from now .I think you need to make your mind .What you are stating in this thread is that live sets were different 5 years back , what have the rolands got to do with the way a live set was performed back then , a live set was still live .20 years from now who knows how ppl will perform live? it dosnt mean live sets werent performed right? But now u have twisted the topic by differentiating live sets , and i think Live acts are much much better then Djs anyday because in a live act the artist can alter any part of the track which a Dj cant . When Djs play good tracks at parties ,people think the Dj is a God because he plays different music (within the genre ofcourse) but they dont even know who make such good music..

knock knock ...
r u ok viral virus...?????????????
u dont seem to get what i say .
what i meant to say is that , moreoften than not there are dj sets which are preferred over live sets ...there few select countries where there is a huge following hence more artists play live sets ..
m from india and here v havnt had a live set in a long long --LONG time..only one v had was dark nebula a couple of months ago and that was barely a live ..the set up was huge but the rezults were poor . and the dj set he played was better than the live by a long wasy
that is the only live v had ..
but from what iknow there are indeed some master artists whoose live is worth 1000 miles to go .
there are many artists whio dont prefer live sets in small parties .
its all about quality of music for me .be it live or a dj set
