is it true ...i hav spoken to ppl abt it and from what i gather is that as more and more ppl get into the scene the same way more and more innovations taking place .
there never used to be a live performance 4-5 years back .
is it only coz of the commercial heck of it , coz the most of times the artists performing as a DJ is a lot better than the live performance .
there still arent any artists performing live in places like GOA and many more ..its coz of money ++++ its mainly coz there is less commercialization compared to other parts ..even the 3 day annual fest at hilltop only has dj sets .
and good dj set is sometimes far far better than a live set
this is my own opinion .

I see you failed to understand my point and irony.
Even 12 years back there were great Liveacts in our scene that actually many times played much more live than most of todays so-called live acts do (mouse click - computer run). |

i got ur point handa ..i know how it all started in
the early days

and many more things were used to make live music
Specific Goa sounds
Kick drum : TR 909
Like in many other EDM, the main element is the kick drum. Yet, in Goa Trance, it is quite dominant. The sounds used are mainly coming from the Roland TR 909 drum machine. This machine, released in 1984, was the last of the Roland drum machines to incorporate analogue synthesised drum sounds. It was possible to shape the sound using rotary knobs on the front of the machine to adjust parameters. As these machines are now hard to acquire, most Goa trance artists use samples of the TR909 or similar vintage drum machines in their work.
Acid sounds : TB 303
Extensively used in house and commercial club dance music over the years, the Roland TB 303 is responsible for many of the acid bleeps, squelches, squishes and whooshes found in traditional psychedelic trance. Today, these sounds are mostly obtained thanks to the use of sampled sources manipulated using the filter section of the sampler. Though, the influence of the TB303 sound can still be heard in many Goa trance tracks.
Two great classics : the Roland TB 303, already mentioned, or one of its clones (Syntechno TB-303, TBS-303), overused in the past, or the Roland SH-101. We can also mention the Roland Juno 106 or the Roland Jupiter 6

Whts wrong with Live show? I really can't understand in which ways in can be bad.
What about Sun Project with live guitars?
What about melicia + his sister Odelia singing on raveolution 2004? I Will always remember this live set.
What about shpongle live with raja plays the flute?
What about Infected Mushroom live with Mayumana? I saw this show and it is Unforgettable.
How these sets can be bad??

Ok. I never saw in my life a live bad set. I mean I never saw a live set and thought to myself....hmmm this could be mush more batter as a dj set instead of live.

Well
Commercial Parties NEED big headliners to attract an audience which will make the party work out financially.... So, in that respect, live acts are important to commercial parties.
But, liveacts as such, are not commercial - They are just, well, live acts.
Some are interesting, some are not....
Just like DJ sets, some are interesting, some are not....
I think there is room for booth.
Lots of work goes into both doing good DJ sets and good liveacts - Both deserve respect, and artists should commit themselves fully to their art.
Some times, live acts become impractical - Especially at small underground events...
We can live without live acts, but I think its a nice twist at a party to at least have 1 live act... if only for an hour...
If DJs attracted people within the psy scene via their names, they would be just as commercially viable as the live acts.
Artists cant help that some organizers need to create big parties, either for the heck of it, or to make money, or because they dont have any other choice...
So.... Is there really more than I mentioned to discuss in this ?
(remembers experiencing his first goa/israeli trance live act in 1995)

dosnt make sense , there have been live set perfomances much before what u have even stated , Astral projection have been doing it soo many years now , and as for Goa , Logic Bomb performed many years back and alot
... Am not entirely sure but i think even Space Cat performed during the late 90's
