Ive seen these guys perform live.. I have been backstage when they performed noticed they were running 2 PB laptops a board and they had there keyboards.. I think they were Nord and Juno 106.. how ever it looked like the keyboards just kinda sat there. they did more tweaking on the mixer board than anything.
The live sound was very very nice. almost sounded like it had been mastered already. Im
Anyone have experience with this? Do you think they master the tracks and bring them back into there audio sequencer?
Thanks

Ive seen Infected Mushroom live 3 times. Twice they pretended to do live stuff. They just have their laptop playing the album versions of their tracks. The third time Erez was actually playing a couple riffs live on his Nord but still it wasn't that live. Astral Projection on the other hand didn't even hook up their gear lol. THey were so drunk and drinking whiskey while pretending to do stuff. QUite funny. |

Is it a secret then that most of the live acts do it like this? |

i thought it was known that they didnt do lives... they can play a bit but not much.. in most of the live acts i seen they just do (or i think so) effects (like entry winds, etc) and some spaced melodies..
but its compreensible, do you the complexity and precision of electronic music? there's no room for mistakes or you break the energy...
but i think the worst is to pretend to do live.. that's very bad, after all you're cheating the audience...
about the teeth thing, it's possible that he was actually playing with his teeths.. it's not that hard, just depends on which melody your playing.. althought i doubt it was live lolo |

I usually do live performances by midi (I dread the day my midiinterface screws me ), but I have done a couple wav-playbacks. I like the midi-performances since they give me more freedom to alter other parts of my soundscape than the wav performance does. I always keep a backup wav-file with me for emergencies but thank God I haven't had to use it yet

if you have this set well... it is (exactly) equal to the one we're talking looool. and it was not on a radio... it was on a 75€ festival.
but who cares? it was an amazing performance (yeah they fake well heh). |

i think he was playing live. Many "guitar heros" have done that in the past and is not that hard (if you tolerate the taste of iron and sweat in your mouth).
I just don't like the guitar hero pose and i'm not really a fan of guitar in psy tracks (usually just the same dumb riff or two) and it did ruin the (fake?) im live for me (off course it's a matter of taste, manyh ppl loved it, i and many others didn't).
But i think it was playing live, it had that "fm rock guitar" blasting throught the PA.

same here......BUT..
There is also a PHOTO of them in a austrailian Psyforum of them playing "LIVE" WITHOUT SOME EQUIPMENT EVEN PLUGGED IN !.
...
and it was posted by another artist who actually did play live that night....and lent there gear for the I.M "act"!.
its funy because the photo is taken when they are suposably tweaking it... :{
In my books that is real close, or is FRAUD and if i was the prometor i would be considering a minamal payment.

Well... I kind of came up with and idea of how we will go about it..
here is the gear I intend to use in order to accommplish my show.
1 Mackie Onyx 1620
1 BBE MAXCOM
1 JUNO 106
1 MicroKorg
1 V-Synth 61 KeyBoard
1 V-Synth XT ( For Live Vocal Effects, bLAH bLAH bLAH )
2 Motu 828MKII ( For Ibook & PB )
1 Motu - MIDI Timepiece AV
1 IBOOK 1.2 ( Running Ableton Live or Logic - Audio Clips Bass, Drums, Synth Textures and FX )
1 POWERBOOK 800MHZ ( Runnin Live - Midi Clips Slaved to Live or Logic ( Playing parts on the Hardwares Synths { MicroKorg , V-Synth, Juno }.)
I'm assuming once I get the Mixer Dialed in it should sound nice. I was thinking to put the BBE Maxcom right after the Mixer going to the house for a final touch to bring out the freqsand make it sound real nice.
Any input on this config??
Now where do I plug My Guitar ? I have Guitar Rig by Native , but its a CPU hog. I dont feel like luggin my G5 ou of the Studio... Guitar is for a couple cools rifs and some feedback FX.. No Butt Rock Goa here guys!!!!
