Of course i see the difference man. I just say that they didnt do any unknown according to other artists. BTW did you hear for HDD recorder or DAT equip??? Lap Top is just a modern and payable and also by size, smaller!!! Dont you think that if artist dont have lap top on stage its real analog live? Of course playing instruments over background exist! No doubt in that. BTW about Son Kite and Sebastians violine, he use this violine as midi controller as you can use guitar or drums or any instruments which is plug on electricity and over module simulate any instruments etc etc... This is more way of visual expression then useful. But if you are BIG name, you can cook lunch on stage and you will do it LIVE ACT!!!
P.S. I really think that is so needless paying attention on that kind of stuff. Artist present they years back work on production and on stage just have to make good performance and thats all!!! Much more important to me is that what i hear then what i see. At least im not in theater im on music party...

Well thats your opinion, and I respect it. But here we are talking about doing something on stage.
I really enjoy music from artist even if they dont do nothing but press play on their laptop.
I just wanna know who has really work in his live presentation and know what they do.

all sequences are from mpc 4000 connected to a mpc 2500 , total of 1 gigabyte 100% controlable samples , on the spot with 32 pads , controlled by Tim , NO Laptop on stage !!!!
then full live guitars and nord modular g2 synth , by Me (Tom)
and Wouter (our animal:)) hitting a full roland drumkit as hard as he can for 2 hours straight show ,
mostly seen in europe because very expensive to do outside it because of all the gear .... and the flights hehehe but for us there is no other way then 100% live and the interaction with the audience is supppergreat for us as artists ...
we are working on a dvd as we speak to show the world what is going on in our little little country ...

And that is just im talking about here whole time!!! Cause of that many artists do live performance on different way
BTW one of the reason why Shpongle dont have live that often is that they have 7 more ppl to play with them as band and lot of equipment. Can you image how much is the travel and equipment transfer or rent cost?

Ok, I know THAT, also the guys who arent lazy and prepare a good performance using some midi controllers.

Please back on first page and try to figure out who actually open this topic. I just comment on it. You should ask moderators to lock this topic after you posted cause you dont like comment against your opinion, obviously.
Ok, about live act using midi control i agree with you on that. Put some effects and do some automatization etc etc... i agree with that cause this is also one kind of changing track at this moment and doing visual performance. Its more realistic then talking about whole band and actually topic start with:

On the left I have the Remote 25SL from which I am triggering Scenes and Clips in Ableton, using it as a Control Surface to control the Ableton interface. As well as note input. On the Right I have the Edirol PCR-30 midi controller which is used for controlling VSTi parameters, FX parameters, and Filters.
I am using 21 channels in Ableton in total... With individual channels for hats, snares, vocal samples, Kick, FX Kick, Bass, FX Bass, Breakdowns, Leads, FX leads etc ...
