Hi every body, I think its agood idea to make a list of the artist who really play live, I know its hard to play a real "live act" and there are a lot of diffferences, some will do with Ableton live, others with live instrumentation etc.
So please name the acts you have seen as truly live act and those who you think its work on stage goes further than pressing play button in the computer, like at least mixing the tracks on a awesome way.
List:
Son kite/Minilgoue
S.U.N. project

my list follows the criteria on the main topic.....
colin you are the right person to decide when a "live" involves a decent amount of work+talent+effort+innovation+quality etc to be called LIVE......???!!!
for ex. excluding instrumental groups what artist do you feel did a real live set and why..?
i def. feel all the artist i cited prepare-do something that can be called live ....would be nice to have the artist contributing.... |

This thread is useless without descriptions of what each act actually does live, otherwise it will just degenerate into more lists of acts that people just enjoy/want to promote.

you are totally correct, so it would be very nice to add that information next to the artist, if we Know what they do. |

Also will be very nice that if somebody is in a mistake someone can correct the information.
I think this is a good idea to know who really deserves to call it self Live.
Market will always work better with more simetric information between those who buy and those who sell, and I think promoters, artist and assitants to party could beneffit from this if we work hard to build a credible database.
Cheers. |

the best "live" I have ever seen/heard was silent sphere (2 years ago)...
simon was jumping along the whole stage, moving from one synth to the other (there were @ least six of them)....
AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!!

Best live for me was ATMA in Germany last year !
He had a table full of strange equipment, synths, samplers, sequencer, effects, but there was no laptop, computer or that classical huge mixer on the stage...
The only machines i recognized was an Akai Mpc 2500, a Mc 909 and a big Roland MV 8000, all the other stuff was unknown to me.
And yes, it was real live... you can hear and feel every knob he touches every sound he played.
I haven't seen this any live like this since the early days of Techno music. |

from all the live acts I have ever seen,
not one I ever payed attention if it was real live or not...
and if a live act was actually real live and it sucks then I prefer an artist who knows from himself that playing his music life is too hard @ that moment or any reason ever but present me a good sound live or not...
