do you know of any artist using in his live acts the samples, loops, presets etc... present in his releases, but arranging them each time in a completely new and different way???

some kind of improvisation with the bricks that he used to build his released tracks???

Out of all the live acts I've seen, only Midi Miliz and (years ago) Infected Mushroom did any of this. Juno Reactor puts on an awe-inspiring show of course, but it's not quite the same thing, with loops and all.

I think I'd highlight Midi Miliz as the group with the best live techno show.

I could also name several acts I've seen which apparently had nothing live going on whatsoever, but what's the point

Kri and Alex of Touch Samadhi have a live IDM/Psy act known as Shapestatic. I've heard some really famous acts live but these music that comes out of the Shapestatic sound system is like no other. All on the fly and each coming together to make the set a unique aural and mental journey .

the few of the more experimental psy acts i've heard (zik, fractal cowboys, para halu, onnomon) play very different, even more psychedelic stuff live than what you can hear in their releases, a lot more on the experimental, interesting, and psychedelic, and less 'hard' boring dancefloor style like what you hear in most releases. though i am sure they can play that way also..

also some techno and IDM acts are quite different live than the released stuff. Richard Devine, for one..

Skazi.
Every live act they put in a lil more shitty guitar riffs.
It gets annoying, but than u realize the true meaning of life and things start picking up.

Ticon also delivers in this aspect. And if you really want a live-set that's going to be different from the original material you should look to experimental electronic/techno artists like Autechre.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. Der Dritte Raum is doing it (and they've just released a new album btw), Motion also (aka Tetraktys) with Mayu playing violin on stage, some others I've seen have been quoted already (Son Kite, Midi Miliz), Solead (Motion + Triptych) with Triptych using a Theremin, hmm there are some others, I have to think about it hehe..

Ticon does a great live show.

My roommate Jester and I do live electronica....granted, there can't ALWAYS be some sort of improvisational aspect on every track but we do things to keep it interesting. Sometimes Jester will play cool leads over a track, or i'll bring in some new sound and twist it up on a Kaos pad....or i'll just do DJ tricks. But yeah, there definately needs to be SOME kind of aspect of the show which is live other than the simple presence of the artist
