for a live gig, you don't need anything else than ableton!
it's the perfect tool for the job.
booom psylo

ps: i saw eskimo and black&white @the last goa using it too for their live setup.

I was just about to ask this question myself so Ill keep it in this thread:
What are the diff options for a 2-man liveact?
I was thinking maybe one person doing arranging in Ableton while the other plays some Synth stuff live? What do you think?

Yep! me & dj gaspard play live as YabYum... usually he runs our set off ableton 4 while i play live synth & patterns from logic... (plus a kaoss pad & microkorg for extra sounds/fx)

in my own live act i run ableton 4 & logic 7 (!NOT rewired!) for patterns & synths and of course the kaoss pad... it always freaks me out though... one computer can only handle so much...

have fun!!           New Ajja album coming soon on Peak Records!

You can insert program change messages into MIDI tracks, but I still prefer the way you could give each MIDI part it's own program number in VST...           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

i just remembered an app that emulates the PhatBoy, may be cool for laptop based live acts!
quick description
example
knob 1, on the virtual Phatboy will controll midicc7 that will send the data to whatever midi output choosen... the special thing about it is that this knob1 can be controlled with, for example keys 'Q' and 'A' on your qwerty
but i don't remember the name ;/
