pls check out my track "Race against time"...(melodic trance)

http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=208552&T=4692

Facts about the song....

made in about 4 hrs...reason??? I have a very very very slow computer (celeron 400) and hence had to use my friend's office computer!

no fx, no compression, no panning, just pure music....i know this would be a huge "turn-off", but atleast u know well in advance what NOT to expect!

Track is only 3 minutes long....should i complete it or just dump it????

thnx

Hi Zooter

What can I say?

It sounds like something from a sega game machine from about 10 years ago.

I think you should look on the net for some instrument samples that are usable to get a powerfull sound, unless your point is to make music for nintendo gameboy games.

Tell us what are your objectives are Do you want to make powerfull dancefloor music, or are you just satisfying your need to make something?

Please dont reagrd this as the turn off you were expecting, It takes time and lots of hardworking hours to be able to get "that sound". My guess is that you use the samples that came with the software you are using, like i said before search for some nice drum kits and hear the difference.

I dont know what else to say, it seems like you are either very young, or you have just started figuring out how things work.

Take a dive over to the links section and find those KITS!!!

once you find the intruments you want everything becomes clearer and the results will be surprizing, even to your own ears.

I hope you can get what you are looking for.

Regards

Kenneth

dude,

decide what u r making.

once u say melodic, then u say minimal/ chillout/ ambient etc.

i think u have no idea what any of these genres are.

honestly, this is a waste of everyone's time. if you respected people's time you wont even have the guts to put up this crap and expect people to spend time downloading and then listening to this track.

Please people......on this forum.....

upload tracks only if you are serious and have worked enuff on ur track.

we cannot waste time on anything less than that from your end.

also this costs money in most places in the world, i.e downloading costs exist and can be put to better use.

ok, i'm really very sorry about wasting people's time....but cmon, i never thought people in trance were such "short tempered", "busy", "easily annoyed", "no PLUR nature", "want the best", etc, etc.......

ps: this goes specifically for error604 only!

well not as critical in my reply, but i have to say that the sounds are really bad man. not to say that your composition is bad. it is actually pretty good. and if you had said that you made this on a sub-standard program i would have said good job. but reason is a rather robust app, especially if slaved to cubase. and i think what drove error604's post was the EXTREME lack of time you spent on sound design. regardless of what your computer speed was, people on this forum invest quite a bit of time, money and energy into their craft. to say you spent only three hours on a track and expect respectable posts is a slap in the face of dedication.

as far as wanting the best....don't you?

this is what i made in reason. not the best by far, but much closer to being "good"........ http://organicparadox.com/01blink_tracks/organicparadox-grimmel.mp3

there is alot of plur in this forum, but you must give it to get it.
