New Megatone album Five Elements released on netlabel TVK (Australia)
MEGATONE – Five Elements
Album Five Elements is a set of audio installations that represent the five elements, Water, Metal, Fire, Earth and Ether, by artificial sound design. Each track has a temporal development similar to the form of a traditional composition, thru an initial state of equilibrium, followed by a disbalance that ends in a new equilibrium. At the same time each piece can be listened in a loop as an atemporal non-evolutive sonic background. Each track is manipulated in real time, I played on the sound of water or fire like on a musical instrument, borrowing the nuances and expression learned from playing piano.
Pedro Neves, aka Spiritual Hi Tek, started music when he was around 6-7 years old. At this time he had a bass guitar. Then, after 8-9 years, he started a band of Trash Metal called "Sacred Sin", where he played electric guitar. After leaving the band 2 years later (the band keeps trashing nowadays, being respectable in the Metal world), he started searching for new sounds, like listening to the "Underground Sound of Lisbon" CD, the old techno, but it was in the psychedelic world, around 1999, that he discovered the true sound he had searched for so long. Pedro started to mix with Sony-MiniDiscs in 2000; after that, in 2003, he started to mix with Pioneer CDJs, and in 2004 he finally made the first step into producing music. Now he made a step to a new level of music, leaving his old project(shivasplash),and joining the world of chill out... At this time Pedro continues to explore and learn music production every day.
