In the war of the cpu usage which i think we all fight, i thought it could be a good idea to spread awareness of plugins n vsts which takes a big load on the cpu.
With awareness about it its easier too achieve a smoother run!.

I start.
Omnisphere.
PCM Lexicon reverb(Takes a nasty load!).
Sugarbytes Effectrix.
Dblue Glitch.

Btw: is there anyway which you can edit post after a longer time?, i thought i could repost all plugins on first page

i really dont see the point of creating a topic saying wich plugins are cpu intensive...

is this a kind of "dont use this plugins" black list topic??

why not give a list of amazing sounding plugins with barely almost zero foot print on cpu??

the plugins mentioned on the topic start...arent that bad, at least, my super computer can handle them without problems...

if you want to mention some plugin that really, really heavy, then try LuSH101 from D-16...

Partikkel Audio's "Hadron" is pretty much impossible for me to use in 'real time'.

But you can get some really wicked sounds from it. And it's free

Is it in your nature too always whine and complain?.
Great that you have a super computer but perhaps not everybody has.
This is not a competition too who have the best computer or run the heaviest plugin.
The point of the thread is too shine light upon such plugins and vsts which take alot of cpu so you can use it in a more resourceful way.

Ive been using lexicon reverbs for a year or so and it was not until recently i discovered how much cpu it´s eating. Soo by sharing we can save hours of searching it ourself.           .

yes,

but still, i dont see the point of opening a topic claiming a plugin is too heavy..

whats your goal with all this? search for alternatives?

then instead of use lexicon, try to use ValhallaRoom which is almost as good and doesnt consume 10% of the lexicon waste of resources...

And don't forget the memory-hogs like all these fat romplers:

- NI action strings, symphobia, piano in blue
- east west stuff

I have 8gb of ram and I'm bouncing like hell all the time. most of these romplers are cpu-heavy too but I get faster to the memory limits then to the cpu limits.           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog
