This documentary, to me, defines the trance life style.

In my opinion, the most important thing about trance is the the other stages of counsciousness you can get, just by listening and dancing. If I'm concentrating in a mandala as well, then it really kicks.

I practice meditation everyday and study the message of the vedas, the sacred scritptures of India. Trance to me is like a meditation session. I very often think about Shiva Nataraja (it represents the cosmic dance of cration, creating, maintaining and transforming and one of shiva's foot is stteping on ego) and everything my guru taught me when I'm dancing.

And this doc. says the same thing, Trance has this magic of counsciosness expanding in view of it's strong connection with India.

As Goa Gil says: "When come to party, set up my altar, enchant my mantra and make the offerings to the cosmic spirit, the music becomes the offering, the dance becomes the offering. And then the longer the trance comes, it's like a bolt of lightening on everyone's counsciousness, and that's when the seed has been planted, making people more aware of themselves, their surroundings and the needs of the planet. "

It shows Burning Man 99, everyone almost naked with tribal clothes. That's the thing, to celebrate as brothers, with the awereness of the divine cosmic order, and working to bring heaven to earth.

I think our tribal trance festivals should be showed in schools, where they have been teaching our children that the most important thing is to have, not to be.

Trance goes way beyond music, is a way of life.

All is one.

It's just music.. some people get their kicks from Metal and other loud noises.. some people get their kicks from "psychedelic" melodies and hard kicks.. it's just music..
nothing more.. well that's my opinion, and I respect yours..
what we all need is that someone to love.. that's all you need.. how cheesy do I sound? but honestly.. that's all you need           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

There are certain kinds of muisic are mystical. Each kind of music makes an influence to your body. Our body is made of lots of atoms that are constantly vibrating, and music is also a vibration. So when that vibration comes, it influences your body and the frequencies of the mind.

You will never hear Sepultura, Pantera, NOFX, heavy metal in general and think of how the world is great. Why? Because it gets into your head and influences thoughts of destruction for example. I know this because I was like this as a teen.

As well as you'll never hear Hip Hop and be influenced to think stuff like "I should not disrespect other people" , I should do good to my community. Why? Because the lyrics just don't help, as well as the beat. The beat makes you get a "macho" attitude. I used to like hip hop as teen as well.

If a pearson is really right minded, he will never be influenced, but I bet he won't like to hear people screaming f..k u or stay away.

There are different kinds of altered stages of counsciousness. The kind you can get with ambient is different than the one you can get by hearnig high tempo trance. The stage you can get meditating with no music is diferent as well. And certain kinds of music just can't help you to get in other stages. A guru, that has a constant state of altered counsciusness will not leave this state if he hears loud hard rock, but it will not be helped to go anywhere else.

The bands in your mind of Alpha, Beta and Delta will go stronger under influences. There is a specific high tempo of repetition of base line or drums (does not has to be in trance, there are some africans that practice only with their drums) that makes easier to get into alpha (with the eyes closed).

In extreme calmness or in a dream state, the delta will rise.

Believe me, I'know what I'm talking about.

About love, you have to love yourself first, the rest is consequence.

have you seen the documentary?

tks Green!!!

I don't think there is a name for it, since this stuff has been known by indians and old tribes. If someone names it, will be relative.

There is a lot of stuff about it on the
net.
