Does anyone here tried to deal with Linux while creating or post-producting music?           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

You do not need DirectX, m8.

I've heard Propellerheads Software is going to release Rebirth for Linux.           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

for this time, linux is very a very good os.
the problem is that there are lots of softs / plug's / VSTi that are not adjustablr for linux.
it will take some time b4 i will recomend to start to produce on linux os.

Unfortunately OS-X need MAC, and for music it must be really good MAC, something about dual G4.

I'm using RedHat Linux since 1996 and I've heard they also started development of multimedia enhanced Linux. However, kernel support for professional sound cards is not enough, there must be also some software to get your job done.

Dayon,

DeMuDi and ReHMuDi (RedHat based Multimedia Distribution) I've talked about are the same project, called Agnula.

More info available here:

It's the same as PC , ofcourse if u use QuadXEON
multiprocessor system it's better to handle a lot
of VSTi's and FX in realtime , but i use G3 350mhz
and it's more than enuff for all my audio needs .

falfula , actually i don't think about upgrading my
G3 , because i don't like upgrades , i always
prefer to buy a new Mac. This XServe is a really
powerfull machine, but too expansive for me .
Anyway i working with midi only (no soundcards) , so i don't need this much computing power .

Btw , do u know were can i get Latronic NOTRON ?

EZ ,

Peace .
