facehead, could you please explain the setup you want a little more accurately. For example, how do you mix the audio? In mixer? In one of the computers? Do you want to transfer the audio digitally?...
And no, I haven't been able to check out the midi syncing settings. It should be mentioned in the manual, though. Try searching it. |

ok i will I havent gotten it working yet but im trying to have computer A hooked into channel 1 of the mixer via audio out of the soundcard. I want this computer to have control of live loops played in reason rewired through cubase so the user of this computer will also have control of vsts if they would like to. computer b will have the stripped down tracks playing in cubase with a usb controller controlling the levels of and effects of key elements of the origional tracks kick on a chanel bass on a channel complex melodies and arpeggios on one and other samples and elements that are too complex to recreate will also be controlled with this device with once again the audio out from the soundcard running into channel 2 on the analog mixer a nord lead running through another mixer channel a mic w/effects running channel4 on the analog mixer anda few free channels just in case...
so With this setup I can see so many live possibilities but I just need to get both computers in tempo with eachother.
thanks for your help

So... is a SPIDF cable pretty much required for an official Cubase VST system link? That's more or less all that the Cubase manual refers to. I don't have SPIDF on either of my current ASIO interfaces so I'm wondering if I need to invest in ANOTHER pile of electronics to get proper use out of sync'ing my desktop and laptop.
I know I can just use MIDI cables for a simple system clock link but... meh. That's so 1988.
